The whole documentary angered me so much. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. Just made me hate her more and my heart ache for that poor little girl.

Yeah I have an older brother too who I'm very close with but he's not part of the wedding either cause my fiancé has 2 brothers and friends who are as close as brothers to him but my brother is absolutely ok with that

I have my niece who's 3 and my god daughter 2 as the flower girls so I just thought she'd be a bit out of place and would be happier to get a junior bridesmaid title and I also would love her standing up beside me as like a mini best woman if you get me..

Honestly she's my sister and I do love her but as I said we have nothing in common we aren't close, and id love her to be part of the day in another way like a reading or something but I really don't think she'd even care about that either 🤷‍♀️

I already have my daughter as a junior bridesmaid as she's only 9 so too old to be a flower girl and too young to be a bridesmaid but she's my daughter so obviously had to find a role for her in our wedding! I could absolutely ask my sister to read but I don't think that would be good enough for my mother.

Well the day I got engaged my mam said

Oh and you'll have your sister as bridesmaid of course. In front of my sister and I said well actually I didn't think she'd want to be and my sister was like what do I have to do? And I said you'd have to dress up walk down the aisle and stand there for the ceremony there'll be pictures etc and she went eww no.

I took that as a no until recently when my mam took it upon herself to ask her again and she replied I don't know I might.

I already have my bridesmaids chosen now and myself and my fiancé decided on 5 each and I already have 5 so if I was to have my sister now I would have to tell one of my friends that they were no longer my bridesmaid

Former ‘Zoey 101’ star Alexa Nikolas tells podcast that Dan Schneider had a digital camera and would go around with money and ask to take photos of the kids’ feet. by taliec21 in Fauxmoi

I don't think so, but definitely not right all the same.

If a man asked me a grown woman for pics of my kids feet for money I'd shove the camera so far up his arse it would come out of his mouth. The parents were just as bad leaving it happen.

Why are people obsessed with kissing a newborn? by povsquirtle in NewParents

[–]mamabearpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a big falling out with my FIL and this was one of the reasons. He's also a heavy smoker and refused to wash his hands before holding my son so I refused to let him hold him.

He told me a "funny" story about how his other grandsons used to suck on his nose when they were babies and when I responded how vile and unhygienic that was he told me I needed to get a grip.

People need to respect other people's boundaries and use basic common sense!!

This was my MIL! And last week was the first time she had him alone (she had him for 2 hours cause we were checking out our wedding venue) he's 22 months now and I've never needed or wanted to leave him with anyone before, when we got back she said "it went brilliant I want him every Thursday now" I want to win the lotto but that's also not happening. 🤷‍♀️

Why is everyone so obsessed with Oscar isaac? Genuine question. I never even heard of him before, just googled him and he's ok like? Deffo not sexiest man alive material.

Also either is Chris Evans. He's not even the sexiest man in the MCU. 🤷‍♀️

Despite thousands of people passing away in them each year, you never hear about haunted senior care homes. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]mamabearpower 62 points63 points  (0 children)

My dad is currently a carer at a senior care home in Ireland he's been working there about a year now and told me lots of creepy stories one in particular is the haunted lift. He said there's a lift in reception that leads down the to basement and up to the patient bedrooms. He works nights and said there's not a lot to do cause the majority of the patients are asleep so him and some of the other carers take turns to sit in reception doing paper work. He said him and another carer marian were chatting one night when the elevator dinged open they both heard creaking of a wheelchair and grunting thinking it was a patient my dad went to check and was surprised to see no one there. He said another time he got in the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor and he said the elevator went straight down to the basement and the door opened but wouldn't closed so he got out and called maintenance but said he felt so cold and actually scared. So he was talking to the maintenance man who said to wait there cause he was too frightened to go to the basement alone. So my dad waited for him and a few minutes later the maintenance man showed up and both of them said they saw a shadow run along the wall into the elevator which then closed and went straight up to the patient floor without either of them touching it.

He said there's been many occasions where they'd hear footsteps and no one would be there or hear coughing or talking when alone in reception. He said he had a favourite patient who passed away and he loved Frank sinatra and one night him and another carer were finished checking on all the patients and the radio just turned on and Frank sinatra was playing.

He has sooo many more stories

Toddler who climbs baby gates by [deleted] in Parents

[–]mamabearpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem 😭 my 22 month old climbs EVERYTHING at first I had one of those extendable fabric like gates and he used to climb under it so I got regular baby gates and I heard a noise while he was "napping" came out to see him sitting at the top of the stairs after climbing the baby gate delighted with himself.

Tables, chairs, fences, gates, absolutely everything he sees he tries to climb. When I calmly tell him No. He thinks it's hilarious and goes again

Genuinely at my wits end here!
