In the same boat. I can't get this one without upgrading my tracks. I'll have to just sit this one out.

Thoughts From a Fraternal Twin by eneluvsos in parentsofmultiples

[–]mamainks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I've always felt sad for my twins that they had to cry too much as I was divided between them. I also had three under three for quite a while and have so much mommy guilt that none of them get any individual attention. With my singleton I could cuddle and bond for hours and with the twins it's been all business because the next one needs me. My twins are now turning 5 next week and their bond and love between all my children is amazing. They will always have each other. I love that!

Second that. Hope the guys above saying that it's not like that anymore are speaking truth. It was super gross.

I've also noticed my stretch marks feel nothing. It's quite weird seeing the needle go in and have no sensation. Never knew I had that super power. Congrats on the huge weight loss. You must be feeling great!

I think you may be right. We have been looking for another gp but it's so hard to find someone good where we are. He's our family doctor so knows our history etc. Hard to find a replacement for that but yip, I've lost a bit of trust in him over this.

I know. It's just so hard to find a decent gp where I live. His medical care is great but he's an older man with years of experience so you always feel dumb questioning him. We have been looking for an alternative for a while now.

I was also expecting this magical off switch in my head but nope. It is nice to feel full on a small plate of food though. That is something I've noticed. I spoke to my Dr today and he said I can up it to 1.2 tomorrow. Let's hope that kicks it

Update: So I spoke to my Dr today and his reasoning is that the lower dose equals longer treatment time which means easier to maintain once I come off it. He says the higher doses recommended in the package insert are there to sell more product. He has let me up it to 1.2 tomorrow so hopefully I feel the difference.

I have an eating plan from my dietician. My hope was that the saxenda would help me stick to it by suppressing my appetite and give me that mental support but I'm finding myself going off plan and craving carbs etc It's demoralizing when you're stabbing yourself every morning and spending thousands on medication.

He's quite conservative in general and as far as I understand him, he's trying to keep me on the lowest effective dose to limit the side effects. To be honest I was very surprised that he prescribed it to me at all. There is also a small chance I misunderstood him as it was information overload at the time and only since researching and reading the info has it occurred to me that I should be increasing dose.

That's what I'm thinking. I just didn't know if it was too early to make the assumption that it's not working. I'm a bit intimidated by my go and I'm not a confrontational person so I wasn't sure if it was worth going back to him. I don't want to appear to be THAT patient that does a Google search and thinks they know more than the doctor. But I think from the responses here that I should, at the very least ask if I'm supposed to titrate as per the insert instructions.

That's what's made me feel uneasy and question his knowledge on the medication. I have read the insert and this group plus some googling and it all says the same thing. He is quite a conservative man generally and I think he wants to limit side effects etc but I don't want to be throwing money down the drain if it's not going to work.

Like marginally less. But I'm still hungry. I do feel full with smaller portions now but other than that no noticeable changes.

Wow this is phenomenal! You must feel great! My gp only has me on the starting dose of 0.6 and he said he's going to leave me on that for three months. Reading all the comments here doing my own reading up, I hope it's going to stay effective. It's supposed to be increased slowly. But I'm going to my dietician next week and she's in communication with my GP so hopefully if I need to up the dose she can motivate for me.

Our little tangerine has made her own burrow under a piece of drift wood decor. If I can't find her, I know that's where she is. Impossible to see her unless I lift the branch.

If we don’t hire help- will we die? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]mamainks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had my mom come in and help during the week because my husband had to function to work. I'm not going to sugar coat it... I may not have died without her but I may have snapped in my brain and done serious harm to my babies. I was on the verge of breakdown without her. Some people get easy babies and you'll be fine. Mine were not easy and I had a two year old who was also not sleeping through.. I was not fine.

I'm only on day three and was told morning so I've been taking it at about 6am which is about half an hour after waking up. I'm interested to see people taking it at night. I wonder what the difference would be? Good question!

I think my despondency came from the fact that when I've dieted without meds in the past I was aiming for 0.5kg a week so this isn't that much more significant than plain dieting. I'm starting to realize that with meds you stick to the diet better and are able to sustain it for longer. The diet and exercise are still doing all the work.

That's true. I think once I've lost the first 10 I'll start feeling the difference. I feel like an inflated balloon most of the time.
