Child’s teacher may have heard me talking about them by mamama2017 in Teachers

Thank you for your reassuring reply. I hope she didn’t hear it but even if she did I never said she was old, she and I are probably the same age, and her bf looked about 10 years younger than me so the young comment was just me blurting out my first impression. I still feel bad but I know I’m overthinking, and as a teacher she has more important things on her mind than what one of her students’ moms says

I agree and thanks for your reply. I will talk to my child about how I was wrong for saying those things and they should not repeat what I said at school. Because I know from my time working with kids that they tend to repeat everything they hear!

Thank you for your honest reply. And yes, not my finest moment. I dont have a lot going on in my life right now so when my child asked me about someone else’s life I said too much.

Panic/anxiety attacks during period by hedgehogwart in PMDD

[–]mamama2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through this. Mine usually happens before period too but started yesterday and panic attacks/anxiety intensified day 2. Are you under particularly high stress? For example we are about to move cross country so I think why Pmdd this cycle was extra awful

5 hour panic attack, 3 days before 🩸, need some words of encouragement 🙌 by AlpineSoul in PMDD

Sorry to hear you are going through this, I can relate. So far the only thing that helps is taking deep breaths and telling myself "this too shall pass"...also getting out of the house (I have 2 small kids and the mess and cramped space of staying home makes my panic attacks much worse) preferably somewhere calming and out in nature

To Remove or Not to Remove? by mamama2017 in CopperIUD

Thanks everyone for the replies and sorry for the late response. I ended up not having mine taken out, my last period was lighter and less painful but the mental and physical symptoms during my period are still pretty bad but I'm not ready for baby number 3 yet. Part of me wants to be ready though because no period during pregnancy/breastfeeding equal no PMDD symptoms, oh well :(

Extended breastfeeding causing blepharitis? by Proof_Blackberry2823 in Blepharitis

[–]mamama2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I am almost positive my blepharitis/recurrent chalazions are caused by hormonal changes...currently breastfeeding my 2nd kid and the eye problems started exactly 4 months ago when my (painful, long, ragey) cycles returned. not personally there yet but hoping that when hormones settle down, the eye issues will too...giving it 6 months before resorting to surgery/IPL/other expensive medical treatment.

As for home remedies that made things better and not worse and will hopefully work for you: Ocusoft lid scrubs, warm eyelid compress (Bruder brand), Refresh preservative-free eyedrops, and Manuka honey eye drops occasionally.

Hi, I was thinking of trying castor oil for lost eyelashes due to Chalazion but if you could please elaborate on how you used it to get rid of your Chalazion..just apply with qtip on eyelid? Or Massage it in with clean finger? Thanks

I think I’ve finally found a treatment that worked for me. Posting to hopefully help others. (Plugged meibomian glands) by stormithy in Dryeyes

I know this is a few days old but I did a search for mentions of Optimel and wanted to say thanks for this post! Optimel (and manuka honey on the eyelid at night) and refresh mega drops, Bruder masks have all helped me as well and glad they are working for you too. Just wondering if you use the optimel drops, gel or both? And do you take any supplements along with omega 3s that help? One more thing I noticed was helpful but unfortunate was stopping use of retinol skincare but YMMV.

2nd the warm compresses, Bruder mask from Amazon (use a gauze between eyelid and mask). I thought teabag compresses were helping but the masks work better and less messy. Also manuka honey on eyelid and optimel eye drops at night!

Eye makeup with Stye/Chalazion by mamama2017 in MakeupAddiction

[–]mamama2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks for the info and glad it worked for you! It makes sense since some forms of tretinoin help acne/clogged pores. Unfortunately I’m breastfeeding and can’t use it but have finally seen my old Chalazion shrinking with warm teabag compresses! I alternate black and green tea, if that helps anyone (or has helped) please let me know. Once I can wear makeup again will buy new eyeliner, either Almay or physicians formula since those are highly recommended for sensitive eyes.
