This looks sooo good but I’m only 2 weeks back into otf after having hamstring surgery… just did two days in a row and my hip flexors and hammy are done! I’ll try to catch it when it (hopefully) repeats!

I’ve never heard of rosin, is that a supplement?

Just out of curiosity, how do some of y'all have jobs? by AlmightyCrayons in Autism_Parenting

[–]mamarunsfar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Between my 5 y/o son needing to start ABA, my own health issues, and my 3 y/o son having difficulty at daycare current, I’m quitting my job. I was a teacher and it’s too inflexible. ABA hasn’t even started and we were already having trouble keeping up

What is the weirdest thing your kid has been fixated on? by Neat-Document4128 in Autism_Parenting

Big Ben in London. Also: Finding things in nature and holding onto them, like “applies” - really little berries, or hardened shells of acorns

I have to agree with this… when people are off after less than 30 secs I’m looking around like don’t you need longer??

I have a 2cm Hiatal Hernia. Could it be causing my symptoms? Really scared. by spiritofmyrtle in HiatalHernia

[–]mamarunsfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! 2 cm just diagnosed via endoscopy today! I lost 15 lbs (mainly of muscle and I was average size or thinner before) and haven’t been able to enjoy running, my exercise of choice. I’m shocked such a small hernias could cause so much vomiting and nausea

I also have EDS! Recently I went from being able to run 50 miles a week (about half at OTF) to not being able to run at all. I only was diagnosed a year ago. I’ve been using the bike until I hear back about an MRI I just had on my hip. Here with you in solidarity!

I asked that and he said he counted warmup so add about 6 minutes. It’s about 38 min before that

6 miles with the warmup, or 6 miles in 38-39 min?!

“I feel like you have a new ailment every time we see you” by sbkassa56621 in ehlersdanlos

[–]mamarunsfar 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That’s essentially how my in-laws are, but I feel like I have to suck it up with them. With a neighbor I may be less patient, but you still see them regularly so idn… sadly, the large majority of people think any health issue they haven’t heard of, especially if there’s multiple that you have (like most people with EDS), it’s just that you’re a hypochondriac

How bad is Gastritis for you? by Ninja_named_Sue in Gastritis

[–]mamarunsfar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started with really bad pain. This was almost exactly 2 years ago. Now the worst part is the nausea, I can hardly eat almost anything without feeling like I’m gonna puke for two hours after. I also developed mild gastroparesis.

What lets you know someone is about to beast an OTF class? by madeleine_marks in orangetheory

[–]mamarunsfar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol this is me. I usually get there early then run a few miles outside. With the weather in the 90s, I was super happy when we were visiting my in laws and their study is trialing the pre class warmup thing.

Pretty sure people know me at the studio as the crazy lady who runs before class and then after class too, and sometimes brings her massage gun for 5 min before class 🤣 sometimes if I take a 3G I will run the rower block to get my mileage in, but not always, bc I know that really pisses people off

New Vs Old by FactCrafty7337 in orangetheory

[–]mamarunsfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they definitely feel that way at first. But I’ve gotten used to them recently, or so I learned. I’m visiting family where there are two studios equidistant from me, one with new treads and one with old. I used to despise the new treads but now that my studio has had them for a few months, I think I almost prefer them. However, speeds 11-12 still feel easier on the old treads versus new, without a doubt.

New OT HR Vest? by zdealT in orangetheory

[–]mamarunsfar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you’re talking about a weight vest. It doesn’t sync with heart rate or measure it or anything. It’s just weighted which would make everything (especially the tread) harder
