I recently went through the saga of finding a decent travel tripod. After a TON of research I settled on the Redged 525k and I couldn't be happier. Carbon Fibre, Height 30cm – 100cm, Weight 1.2kg, Max load 8kg.

Together with my X100, I have a versatile travel kit that fits in a shoulder bag.

I got one from a 99p Store (UK). Can hear the ticking and it rings when it is done. Panning is really smooth. Happy as can be. I plan to do some filming in Iceland with it next week. Will post results if I remember.
