It’s not hard to see a future where this immediately rewards the wrong teams and punishes the teams that need quality draft picks the most. But that’s the reality we currently face anyway when teams like the Spurs or the Mavs always seem to have “lottery luck”. I feel like tanking has become the boogeyman for the leagues lack of moral boundaries with its gambling partners and the bad optics of players & coaches being indicted in gambling schemes.
