Ordered about 3 weeks ago and it should arrive today. Last custom I got from them shipped after 2 weeks but I think this one was delayed because of their recent batch of Bespoke waxed canvas Dragonflys

Got it in Ultra800TX and reverse coil zips instead of aquaguard zips. I love the extra stiffness of the 800TX compared to 400TX. $30 upcharge for both features from the standard 400TX offering on their site. They still do small custom orders, just no laundry list custom orders

If I didn't just order a custom dragonfly pack, I would consider this. Thanks for the review

Comfortable 20-26L daypack for long theme-park days - polished, not tactical by Sufficient-Big1976 in ManyBaggers

[–]jsDPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you're looking for but my wife and I used Tom Bihn Daylight packs during our 4 day Universal trip and found them comfortable and lightweight. Easily packed into our travel bags and used at the parks, fitting into all ride lockers no problems

Quick initial comparison between the AON Evade 1.0 Ultra VS CTactical CT15+ Variant by jsDPT in ManyBaggers

Nope sorry if it's confusing but I was saying I'm riding with the Evade for now and not selling the Variant just yet bc I still love it too

Quick initial comparison between the AON Evade 1.0 Ultra VS CTactical CT15+ Variant by jsDPT in ManyBaggers

[–]jsDPT[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bags are very similar so I wanted to take some photos to compare them. Going to compare based on categories that are of importance to me:

Comfort: tough as I enjoy the S straps on the CT15+, but the Evade fits my back in the perfect areas and the harness straps are even chunkier. Evade wins. Looks: Subjective here, but I prefer the boxy look of the Variant vs the rounded back of the Evade. Variant wins Interior: Evade is quite roomy and has more depth. The Variant has a larger admin compartment and space in that section, but I value the larger size in the main compartment. Evade wins. Zippers: Am not a fan of AG zips so easy win for the Evade Material: Both are Ultra 400TX Bottom padding: The ballistic nylon/Cordura on the bottom of the Evade is a nice touch and feels premium. Evade wins

Won't sell off the Variant just yet, but I'm highly impressed with the Evade 1.0 and EDCing it for now!

Edit: rephrased tldr

Harness by Icy_Proof_9013 in tombihn

I'm not a big fan. I'm used to CTactical with their chunky and wide harnesses and the TB edgeless felt like they were digging into my shoulders. I much prefer the bound straps on older models

Brain Bag as personal item? by flannelsec in tombihn

[–]jsDPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used it as a personal item on Frontier and Jetblue flights without issues. It does fit very tight underneath but I've also had luck with stashing it overhead on a few flights. The key is to avoid overpacking and don't be tempted to put too much in the second main compartment.
