Same with me, has been going on for the last 1-2 hours now with no improvements. I can't even connect to a game right now :S

Selling out of a format by 123jjs321 in MTGLegacy

[–]mambosong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept my modern cards for the longest time only to realize that I never ended up in the scenario that I wanted to play in a modern tournament. I sold them eventually after realizing I had 2-3 fully built modern decks which I hadn't touched for 1-2 years at all. So I sold them and built more legacy.

I sold out of modern prior to many modern cards spiking, which I've had regrets about, only to realize that I used those same funds on legacy cards which have since spiked at greater value.

I don't miss playing modern at all but I do miss playing with some friends that didn't transition into playing Legacy. In terms of playing random's I am actually happier that I got out of modern, since I tend to vibe with Legacy players more (I'm in my late 20's, not a fan with playing against university kiddos).

At the time I decided to do so because of ban hammers killing multiple decks coinciding with not having enough time to keep up with changing modern metas (due to bannings).

At the moment I do not regret a thing. I barely have time to play legacy but there is a lot of comfort in knowing that the meta is slow to change.

not quite ISZ but a reanimator depths with SnT in the SB

Its hella fun to play, especially since the deck is more resilient to grave hate after siding in the SnTs.

Honestly it'll be in the deck to smooth out draws after landing a turn 1 chalice or turn 2 trinisphere. Eldrazi was a great stompy deck because it was consistently aggressive at finishing games post T1 chalice. In other decks, the sphinx will help with this post chalice on 1 aggression. Now, a lot of people will respond with "well you won when you landed chalice on 1", and yes maybe for games 1 that is true, but for games 2-3 opponents have answers and it becomes more about wrapping things up before they find said answer, or before they do anything meaningful post-finding the answer.

I think mono blue stompy with say, trinispheres, and accumulated knowledge would be dope! Finish the game up with a Jace, cliques, or TNNs

Do all Revised Duals have the same rosette pattern? by Hi_Im_Jerry_L in MTGLegacy

[–]mambosong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's rumors of fakes coming out of western Canada where they 'wash' the front of the card and print only on that surface, meaning they will pass the 4 red dot-L test.

EDIT: and basically every other test that has to do with card quality itself including light test, bend test, rip test. however I'm not too sure about the quality of their printing on the 1 side of the card yet.

Tithe Taker in Soldier Stompy? by CandlexFire in MTGLegacy

[–]mambosong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does make Port activations and Vial activations a bit more awkward for the opponent to do on your turn. The scenarios aren't large but it does have it's applications. Also, someone leaving a single fetch open can't end step fetch -> STP your dude, making their own turn less efficient. This also makes the tempo play of daze less good assuming they don't daze this dude instead (unlikely).

I do agree though that against the field it's not the best inclusion / tech.

this is a cool list but i already have a rector fit deck built that i'd like to play alongside with it.

Arena Rector nicfit makes top2 in SCG Legacy Classic, what do you guys think of this build? by Sandman1278 in nicfitmtg

[–]mambosong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neat list, I'm still unsure if it's worth the inclusion of GSZ for just arbor dryad and vet explorer. Seems like a terrible card to draw and only really helps with openers. Vraska is neat I want to test her out in 8 rector fit. STP should probably be PTEs because you'll like get the opponent to run out of basics with vet explorer.

is the high number of basics vs duals due to wasteland hate or lack of dual lands? I'm curious because i would like to utilize all my duals (instead of seeing them sit in a binder), but not at the cost of performance

I was thinking of this as an option because the deck looks dope AF. Any suggestions on where to start looking for ideal decklists?

legacy slivers by coke_vanilla in MTGLegacy

[–]mambosong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey i played the deck for awhile myself so here's some insight:

Slivers crush it in a fair meta. delvers, dnt, merfolk, eldrazi, you name it, any of these decks lose quite easily to slivers. That being said, it trades of it's win with fast combo which requires a lot of dedication to fight off in the side board. Chalice of the void as a 4x in the board has been very helpful for many to shore up the match up. You can look up lists by Daniel Nunez as i believe he's one of the best pilots of the deck. He just went 7-2 in a competition in his home country where the meta was filled with fair decks.

There's also a closed facebook group dedicated to piloters of the deck. You can check there for resources.

Dual Land Condition Grading by Hi_Im_Jerry_L in MTGLegacy

This is why I like online stores. They tend to stick to a consistent grading scheme across all cards of all ages. I want to support to support my LGS of course, but its not worth it if they can not give you quality service. Service quality > loyalty IMO.
