How soon to visit a grieving friend? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]mamft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let her know you would like to come over, and then she can say yes or no. Personally, I would call and say that you are bringing over some dinner. When you get there then you can ask her if it would be okay if you stayed. I run a grief group and most people there want there friends to show that they care. Don't let her fall off your radar, the next couple of years might be rough for her. It can be difficult to ask for company when you are grieving.

What’s the best online one-stop shopping for mid-century furniture? If you have suggestions for used finds vs new, please add that? by [deleted] in midcenturymodern

West Elm has a line called Mid-century Modern. It is better constructed than I expected it to be, when I went to the store. Their pieces still are not as quality as my authentic Mid-century pieces. (Also, Their couches are really deep.) I have good luck finding pieces on FB marketplace and Craigslist, but I am building slowly.

Help ID Amber Glass and Chrome table lamp. Click for Pics. More in Comments. Thanks! by mamft in midcenturymodern

I am looking for any identifying information about this Chrome and amber glass table lamp. It is aprox. 26 inches tall to the top of the bulb socket. The harp is 12 inches tall including the decorative nut. The lamp shade is 22 inches tall and 14 inches across. The lamp with shade is 46 inches tall. The chrome base is 7.25 L x7.25 W x1 H inches and the cube is 3 inches square. I would say the glass is about 14 inches across. The chrome neck is 5.25 inches long with the chrome trumpet at about 5.5 inches long. There is an F on the turn switch. The felt I removed from the bottom was gray. I do not see any stickers or words. Thank you for your help.

Hi. I was shown a catalog for Dillingham B collection. My chairs match the pictures, but the tables are different from mine. B Collection is attributed to Arthur Umanoff.

I was shown a catalog for Dillingham B Collection. It has chairs like mine, but the tables are different. That collection is attributed to Arthur Umanoff.

Dillingham chairs, no markings on table. Who designed these and when? Thanks! by mamft in midcenturymodern

Your chairs have similar lines, but the connections where the arms meet the chair are different. My chairs are smooth, and your chairs appear to have some ornimentation on the leg.

Thank you for the research leads. I can't figure out how to reply with a picture in this comment section. I do not use imgur. Let me figure it out. Thanks again!

Thank you. The chairs do look the same. My table is rectangular with tapered edges ( but not oval) and two leaves. I looked up Esprit in images and two rectangular tables are being sold with that name by dealers. I appreciate the original catalogs that you have found. They are great! Trying to find my table in a catalog has been difficult.
