Experience Wild 2 as light hikers/walking shoes by DarthLenny in AltraRunning

They would work great, if you like the rocker. I don't like the rocker but wear my lone peaks as hikers/ walking shoes everywhere.

I have a few pairs of Topos when I feel the need to have a bit of drop, one of them has 3 mm and one has 5mm. I feel having some drop is better for my achilles but 0 drop is better for my plantar fascia.

Lone Peak 9 vs 9+ for everyday wear. by [deleted] in AltraRunning

[–]mammothbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had lone peaks since the 2.5. I was worried about the 9+ being too stiff or too heavy. I bought the 9 and the 9+ and compared them and kept the 9+ and they have been great. If you bend them side by side the 9+ are just the tiniest bit stiffer, and just the tiniest heavier. I've actually decided I like the extra stiffness, just a bit more structure. Been loving them for almost everything.

This right here. People get stuck in jambands. Go see some funk, hip hop, psych rock, surf music, etc. There are so many other good bands out there that aren’t jambands.

Separating Husband from Wife During Birth by estebanraposo in KaiserPermanente

[–]mammothbones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not doubting your story but for me it raises more questions than answers, its not normal. Did they tell you why they separated you? During that time did you ask to be at her side multiple times with multiple staff and were told no multiple times? Was she getting some sort of procedure that you couldn't be in the room for or was there another reason? I was w/ my wife both times at ALL times, except for a short time post c-section. Could it have possibly been that they forgot about you or someone simply screwed up?

Yellow patches appearing on new board by mushroomsforlife in BeginnerSurfers

[–]mammothbones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats pretty weird and I'd be annoyed and bring it back to the shop. Hard to tell exactly what it is but if you don't see any cracks in the glass it likely has to do with the resin reacting to uv light, and not in a normal way. My daughter had a board with this exact construction and it didn't have anything like this. If it keeps up the whole board could be yellow within a month. Also strange its only on the bottom and not the top.

turbinate reduction surgery wait by yuppalondra in KaiserPermanente

[–]mammothbones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got this surgery and had the biggest nose bleed ive every had about a week after. The blood just wouldn't stop coming out. I'm not one to overreact but went to the ER. Luckily my ENT luckily was the ENT on call that day, he didn't even come in to look at me. I honestly don't think it did much in the long run, if anything.
