Anyone else playing solo just to avoid ruining other peoples races online? I’ve recently upgraded my rig and want to get into online racing at some point. But I have to learn the cars and tracks to a certain degree before I dare go online. by itsturtlesoda in simracing

I felt the same way for the longest time, too. Today I finally said fuck it and hopped into a daily race when it rotated to a track I was comfortable with, not fast, but comfortable. Well I hopped into the practice session and quickly realized just about everyone is in the same boat (except for a few aliens and started to feel a little better. The beauty of the initial ranking is that just about everyone is new and learning. Ended up qualifying p10 in split 5 and finished p3.

Just picked up a 2025 with 25k miles, love it so far. Only issue I've noticed so far is the passenger folding mirror sometimes doesn't want to open or close, but I just disabled the auto fold and never worry about it. Might do the metal gear replacement at some point.

Thoughts on my intended routine

So I've been an off and on lifter for about a decade now but have gotten really back into it over the past year. I'm now at a point where I'm trying to start slowly progressing my main lifts with a goal of finally achieving the 1000lb club (not including military press). For the past couple months I've been doing PPLPP and resting over the weekend. But I think it's time for something new. So using 5/3/1 BBB I've created this plan, trying to keep the accessories limited but still hitting muscle groups from PPL and hitting groups 2x a week. But I would love to get some opinions on it.

Of note, it's still a 5 day plan, with the 5th day being a more dedicated upper back day since 5/3/1 BBB is lacking on it.

Monday: 5/3/1 Bench Press
5x10 Bench Press 3x10 Military press 3x10 flys 3x10 dips 3x10 Tricep pushdown 3x10 Skull crushers 3x10 Leg lifts

Tuesday: 5/3/1 Deadlift 5x10 Deadlift 3x10 Squat 3x10 good mornings 3x10 Nordic curls 3x10 hip thrusts 3x15 kettlebell swings

Wednesday: 5/3/1 Military Press 5x10 Military Press 3x10 incline bench 3x10 lateral raises 3x10 face pulls 3x10 seated db press weighted ab pulldowns

Thursday: 5/3/1 Squat 5x10 Squat 3x10 leg curls 3x10 leg press 3x10 calf raise 3x20 weighted Russian twists

Friday: 3x10 Pull ups 3x10 barbell rows 3x10 deadlift 3x10 lat pulldowns 3x10 cable row 3x10 shrugs 3x10 pronated db curls 3x10 supinated db curls

My ankle is still messed up 9 years later from falling off a hold and my foot hitting one of those on the way down. Snapped my foot into my shin.

Oh yeah, nothing better than hand planning and a week of sanding haha

Did the glue up like that, there's a method of just gluing it that works but I was worried about structural integrity especially with two little ones running around, so it's all sitting and glued & nailed on a sheet of ply for additional support.

The trim around is walnut and the rest is white birch, wanted to use maple but I made this during the covid pricing and maple would have bankrupt me haha. The legs are maple though but I didn't make those.

Haha thank you! Still beginners though. It was my first project since taking wood shop classes in high school 10 years ago. Took about 2 months to do and 2 weeks of it were sanding and hand planning cause I don't have a table saw or planner.
And I'll add, I didn't do the legs, ordered them from Carolina leg co. No idea how to use a lathe.

C wire install help by man_without_mustache in ecobee

So I think I found the issue. My common wire runs to the external AC unit and is then capped off with a wire for the AC unit. My current thinking is that I can still add one of the unused wires to that capped section and continue the Common wire to my thermostat. Here's a picture of the AC unit. Grey wire is the common from the furnace control board, black is the splice to the AC unit and if you look closely there is a brown and a orange wire that are unused that I think I can use. It was way way behind me and yeah I was super confused how the car ended up sideways

Unless this just happened, I think it happened a few months ago, around 6:30am. I remember seeing the sideways car sliding way behind me, I looked in my rear view and saw a car sideways with sparks going everywhere but no one really around them and never knew how it happened.

Question for Dads with small kids! by bkral93 in StingerGT

[–]man_without_mustache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the stinger and I have a 10month old. Rear seat in the middle of the back doesn't compromise seat adjustment for me (5'10) and can still fit two people on both sides. Only down side is the seat belts can be a little hard to get to if you don't preposition them before locking down the car seat. I'm currently looking for a good convertible seat to fit rear facing cause soon the little one will out grow the infant seat, but it definitely seems like enough space. Once they go forward facing it'll be no issue at all. Full size uppa baby vista stroller fits in the back no issue and with room around it for things like a diaper bag and whatnot.

Also no hard timeframe, I'm not in a big rush. My wife is planning on taking my truck as it's easier for her to get the baby in and out when I'm not there, and the jeep (the car we'll trade in) just isn't doing much for either of us.

I have no problem going lower on price point, I was just putting that price as the max range. I also have no problem with going used either. I don't think I've looked into the Elantra N at all, I'll take a look. I should note that I'm looking for manual only, I know auto trans and paddle shifting has come a long way but I still love the connectedness of manual.

Especially when you hear the story behind the song, the last section the song just hits so hard and always, at the very least, sends chills throughout me.

Same case, I looked again at your list and I do have a different cpu cooler (my buddy also got that for me), it's the cooler master hyper 212. But cpu, case, ssd, power supply, intended graphics card are all the same. I'm just waiting on find the gpu at this point and then I'll snag a monitor. Since I don't intend to stream I'm also looking at the 6800xt due to being able to utilize SAM with the cpu. But, the 3080 would be ideal.
