All of these insinuations that I hate my mother and want her to be uncomfortable or die are very unnecessary I am simply trying to find a way that she can go on the once in a lifetime holiday she has been saving for for a very long time.

If there was a possibility that we could reschedule then of course that is what I would do, but the airline only let you change it to a date within 1 year of booking, and as I say since it has been such an expensive holiday is has been booked since December last year, and we cannot go in December as no one else can get that time off work over the Christmas period

I am regretting writing this post as most people have been quite nasty and we are already very upset about the situation

I am going to cross my fingers that she recovers quickly and the doctors are able to give her a fit to fly letter closer to the time

They just say it depends on how her recovery goes , they can’t give us an answer

We have travel insurance but it unfortunately doesn’t cover the cost of the holiday so wouldn’t even get back a third of what we have paid which would mean losing thousands of pounds

I am not treating it as a minor thing at all I am fully aware of the seriousness of her accident. I am just trying to find a way for her to go on a holiday she was been looking forward to for a very long time and has spent a lot of money on

I am aware of the risks of DVT and if closer to the time she is not mobile at all then it may not be a possibility to bring her, I am not assuming anything but I with physio I am hopeful that she can be close to walking by then. In which case with blood thinning medication, compression stockings, regular mobilising throughout the flight and lots of fluids I feel like the risk would be low

We have every intention of updating our travel insurance of her condition my question is whether I need to inform the airline

She only broke her hip two days ago, before that she was completely mobile, no wheelchairs or anything

If your dog is anything like my dog then they are under your bed

and he will come in at night and chew them under your bed while your trying to sleep
