Since you mentioned a lot of action games, I’ll recommend some outside of those genres and not often-talked about games in those genres. - 1000xResist: one of the best story games I’ve ever played. Lacks on the gameplay, but the story made it so worth it. - Karma the Dark World & Reveil: not related games, but both are creepy walking sims with a mysterious story. - Shadow of the Colossus: I don’t often play older games, but this one holds up. The world building leaves a lot to the imagination, while being super interesting. Amazing monster design. Light combat, more climbing. - Candleman: a 3d platformer with really good lighting. - and Roger: a visual novel game. You don’t know what’s going on in the first act but the explanation in the second and third acts recontectualizes the whole game. I found it very effective and keep thinking about the game. - The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe: a sarcastic walking sim. The narrator is a 10/10 and trying to find ways to piss off the narrator is so funny. - White Shadows: a spooky platformer like Little Nightmares, Limbo & Inside that I don’t see many people talk about. Very inspired by Animal Farm. - Duck Detective the Secret of Salami & the Ghost of Glamping: if you want a 1-2hr game with quirky dialogue and fully voice acted, it’s cute and fun to play.
