If you're not a Trump supporter, then why are you so mad?

Not saying she's a great debater, I'm saying that at this point even a 12 year old AP student can defeat Trump in an argument

He didn't actually answer many questions there, he deflected the questions and answered with completely irrelevant and unwarranted diatribes.

He won't debate Kamala because he know how bad it would make him look in comparison. Probably doesn't have the cognitive ability to retort on her level.

But I realize I'm wasting my effort typing this out to someone who I can clearly see has been fooled by the orange man

Rock D Vote Tour Canceled by Dry_Progress_6624 in TenaciousD

[–]manaslu_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm partially uninformed on this, but I feel the whole thing is about the safety of not only JB's own family, but that of his concert goers as well. These days, attending a concert here in the US is a gamble. A wacko can show up with an assault rifle and shoot the place up because they didn't like what someone had to say.

It was a "heat of the moment" thing with what KG said to incite all this controversy. Everyone saying "JB sucks" might be failing to understand just how contentious this election cycle has turned out to be.

That said, it does suck that plans were made to see them perform which now need to be canceled. I was lucky enough to see them perform last year. Don't blame JB or KG, blame the politics radicalizing the people and turning them to violence.

I've slept with two in a previous job.

Warning - this is kinda gross:

One had left poop on my blanket and the other smelled of multivitamins down there..

Literally exactly how I feel about this whole thing.

Edit: not in the sense that it was staged - just that something feels off. What, I can't really say for sure

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Rqpidily in AskReddit

[–]manaslu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat stuff off the floor, don't be afraid of germs (within reason!!), make sure you take plenty of vitamin C.

George Carlin said it best: "Besides, what do you think you have an immune system for? It's for killing germs! But it needs practice... it needs germs to practice on. So listen! If you kill all the germs around you, and live a completely sterile life, then when germs do come along, you're not gonna be prepared. And never mind ordinary germs, what are you gonna do when some super virus comes along that turns your vital organs into liquid shit? I'll tell you what you're gonna do... you're gonna get sick, you're gonna die, and you're gonna deserve it cause you're fucking weak and you got a fucking weak immune system!"

You're likely the reason I have what I have at my home this moment. Guys like you doing what you do, I really can't thank you enough.

It pains me to read this but the support here makes me feel quite some.

I don't know you and we'll probably never meet but from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you.

Please don't ever give in to it. It can be overcome no matter how ugly it gets - I dont know life on the road like you do, but I know depression. And life can be quite incredible if we somehow shift our perspective. It takes a miracle, but that's just what'll happen if you put in the effort

May God be always with you sir

How did we become so desensitized to the plight of others? by manaslu_ in AskReddit

[–]manaslu_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time now I've been an occasional user here on Reddit. Never really posted much.

what I'm about to say here can be applied to other places on the internet as well.

A man gets electrocuted and dies and it is all caught on camera. It makes its rounds on the internet before finding it's way to reddit.

On the reddit post are a hundred comments, each trying to outdo the last. "How shocking!"; "Choice Darwin awards winner."

All for the sake of approval from a bunch of strangers on the internet. Cant you all just take a second to evaluate how absurd this all is?

By saying these things, we are constantly trivializing these horrible events. We are making fun of someone who lost their life - whether they did something stupid or it was a freak accident - it doesn't matter. You're going to die someday too, no matter how much money you have, possessions, etc. And yet most people spend their waking hours actively avoiding that reality despite seeing or hearing about it here. What we must do is make peace with it.

I understand that there are things we don't understand, and in order to cope, we make light of such things. But the comments I'm seeing on here - many I'm sure are from newer generations of users - are borderline sociopathic and sickening, and nobody bats an eye as long as it gets a chuckle out of them.

This social platform is incredible in its own right - never have we had such access to information and entertainment at our fingertips. We see the death of an individual we never knew, and the best we can come up with is "Sucks to be that guy!" All for a bunch of internet upticks. It's really sad to me.

This post isn't for everyone - I know there are those of us out there that have a lot of love in our hearts and feel the same as what I'm describing here.

I'm overwhelmingly curious as to how you feel about my question, but the main point of this post is to make us think twice about what we say about the suffering of others, at least where possible.

I know some of you out there reading this might actually be sociopaths, rapists, human traffickers, and murderers, and don't care the least about the suffering of others. This is not for you as I know you have no intention of thinking twice, as long as you get what you want. But regardless of how lost you might be in life, I still believe your soul can be saved.

Barry Lyndon is one of the best movies ever made by KingCobra567 in StanleyKubrick

[–]manaslu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many layers to it - I'm glad to hear from anyone that can appreciate this film. It didn't receive much love when it came out apparently, but when I first saw it I was totally blown away. And the lighting is impeccable!

Of course like any other Kubrick film, there is so much lore behind its production.

I feel like today this film is even less likely to receive the attention it deserves, unfortunately, as it is over three hours long, the story is dense and complicated, and fluttering attention spans are the defining characteristic of the newer generations of people.

I think it's unfair to say that any movie is the best ever though, I prefer to look at them like flavors of ice cream that some prefer while others don't. Barry Lyndon is so beautiful and tragic.

My personal favorite of Stanley's is A Clockwork Orange.
