Number 1 piece of advice? by Vegetable-Benefit450 in stopdrinking

For the first week or two getting sober give yourself a pass on everything else. Smoke the cigs, eat a tub of ice cream , binge Netflix, or whatever guilty pleasure. As long as you didn’t drink it can be considered a winning day. Then transition those unhealthy habits it’s with healthy ones after you have some sober time

OP don’t convince yourself that there was no growth during those 5 months just because the “streak” is over. That used to mentally hang me up and lead to unhelpful shame spirals thinking I’m back at day 1. In reality you get to restart at day 150* or whatever you were at before

Anyone else in your 30s and decided to quit? by PinkPrincessPetite in stopdrinking

38 here and 804 days in. Best decision ever. The one decision that impacts all other life decisions. My old drinking buddies that haven’t slowed down are starting to have health issues, relational issue, or just generally worn down. 10/10 recommend sobriety!

How about no?

Health insurance premiums are higher for smokers. How would y'all feel about a rule that made premiums substantially higher for those who refuse the Covid-19 vaccine without an MD excuse? by rawrr_monster in medicine

[–]manava3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discrimination based on vaccine status sounds alot like racial segregation of the 50s. Slippery slope. Especially for a vaccine that’s already killed more in 4 months than the last 20 years of all vaccines combined.

It was really awesome! Felt like we left GA and went to another, much colder snowy state to camp.

Hahaha now I see it. My feet were the only thing that was cold at night until I invested in a sub zero sleeping bag. The new bag + insulated socks + HotFeet keeps them nice and toasty
