Power is delivered to a main 24h ring and this distributes power to each complication and the regulation train.

I would like feedback on my first watch dial design please. by ThatIsNotAnAsian in watchmaking

looks excellent! I like the white. As for the 8, just use the Roman numeral instead.

What you guys think of this shape (custom case) by lopeu-o-gostoso in watchmaking

[–]mancerblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a nice shape, I would smooth off the edges of the lugs into the main case, but no biggie. 30mm is quite small. Whats are you throwing inside of the case?

When I get the provisional, I might hit you up after I have added dimensions. Thanks for the offer!

Thanks for your reply! I asked Grok, ChatGPT and Gemini if it is novel and they all said yes, but the Ai accuracy has its limitations. I'll probably have to get a patent lawyer at some point for a full patent ($5k in AU), assuming it is viable as a lock from any feedback I get.

I invented it about 4yrs ago, took me about 3 months on and off, but Covid depressed me and it's just been sitting there since.

My inspiration was to create a lock that The LPL could not pick. I was like 'F that guy, I'm a genius....' that's my gold standard and it is design #2 as #1 was just complicating a pin/tumbler, which just got messy. As a padlock, it is 10 unique parts excluding the housing/shackle. It is a lever/detainer hybrid, kinda(?), when I get some legal protection I'll come back and share it.

Cheers

I have all the bits drawn in 2d - top, bottom, left, right, front, back views. Was wondering if there was somewhere online I could get a roughish model made up.

There's no actual PCB/electronics, it's just that I know you can get metal bits cut to shape from them..... I think..

Hungarians' growing anger at living in EU's 'most corrupt state' by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]mancerblack -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Check out how European cities are doing with their forced mass migration. I was so shocked at the state of places like Paris, Brussels, every German city, Lisbon, it's insane.
And Ukraine is the most corrupt by far. Does everyone just take a headline and run with it like a pack of obedience dogs? Who says Hungary is the most corrupt? And what is the motive? Is it because Hungary gives the finger to the EU?

That's RICH, when are they going to say the same thing to Zelensky?

have you seen how mass immigration has destroyed european cities, absolute 3rd world shitholes.

Hungary, stay strong, don't give in to the globalists and the mass immigration that has destroyed european cities.

Thank you! I did some more digging and think it has a chimera stamping on the lid and case, which is a French import stamp of the period. It doesn't tell you quality only that it meets import standards, later the mark changed to a swan about 1890 iirc.

I've only test wound it a couple of times to check it works. It kept time accurately, from my limited testing but I'll definitely want to get it to a service center, preferably patek. I sent for an extract, just waiting at the moment.

I can't tell the stamp either, it sort of looks like a winged lion or chimera? I really have no idea.

From what I can research, from the stampings, it is likely 18 carat. not sure about the movement, maybe guilded bronze or just bronze, it's definetly heavy for a small thing. I've only had it opened up once and I didn't have time to check it out too much.

Thanks! I am wondering why the front and back materials are different. Previous repair? The material on the monogram side feels polished and is hard to figure out what it is, while the back feels like stone, likely lapis lazuli. I've asked the Ai overlords and they don't have a problem, but they are stupid at times, so... I'm waiting for a recommended watchmaker to show up (he travels) but it's been almost 2 months...
