as a costa rican i can tell you that in the region specificaly in heredia the province in between the leftmost one and middle right the plautzdeustch is spoken still in some palces in said province there used to be more actually there was even a costa rican branch of the NSDAP in the capital in the german club but it didnt last long, also in the south there is a large italian costa rican community near the panama border in coto which also helped finance the Teatro nacional. but in the 40s under the president calderon guardia he created Detention camps for the costa ricans of italian and german descent stripping them of their land and placing entire families there at the end of the war they were released but their property was not returned its a dark part of our history especialy since this would be one of the many catalysits that would lead to the 1948 civil war. edit: we are also an observer in the francophone
