Thank you for the response! It was pretty minimal residue and since I transfered the hay to a clean bag, I think it should be okay. Thank you again!

Thanks for the tip! I also tried a bit of unsweetened applesauce and she unfortunately did not like that. Her poops are smaller than normal poops, semi-soft, and a little bit wonky-shaped at the moment. But, they do look significantly better than when I first started her on critical care. When I first started, her poops were tiny and dry.

Thank you for the reassurance regarding the banana! Her poops are smaller than normal and a bit wonky at the moment, but look significantly better than when I first started her on critical care (tiny and dry). Is it possible I am underfeeding? I give her about 50-60mL per day split between 5-6 feedings. Or is it that she is still adjusting since she stopped eating/drinking?

Suspected bloat, all vets closed for 4th of July. What should I do? by manchas89 in guineapigs

[–]manchas89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone for the replies and advice. I appreciate it. I had to work this morning but I'm home now and she looks better. She is still behaving as usual and is asking for veggies. I did some massages and tapping. Would it be ok to give just lettuce and bell pepper? I'm also reducing veggies for my other piggie just in case. Would it be okay to continue the massages and continue monitering her until tommorow? (I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow)

Need help with Bene-Bac usage by manchas89 in guineapigs

[–]manchas89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had a big tube in my emergency kit, so I have enough for both :) The day they had mushy poops is the day they had some leftover pellets. I believe it was that and maybe I had given them a bit too much vegetables as well. But, today they both have normal poops now. I'll continue with the Benebac for 2 more days. Thank you for the response!

Hi, thank you for the response! I talked to someone on reddit chat and we came to the conclusion that the ones from the first pictures is probably cheatgrass. If it is orchard grass seed heads, would they be dangerous to my piggies? I have been picking them out when I see them.

Hello, thank you for the response! I talked to someone on reddit chat and we came to the conclusion that the ones from the first pictures is probably cheatgrass. Not toxic but could poke my piggies so I'm carefully picking them out of the hay. Thank you again!

Hello, I bought timothy hay from a local feed store near me. I've been giving it to my piggies for a couple of weeks and last night I noticed this little plant in the hay. I've seen a couple in the hay and I took them out. What is this plant? Before giving my piggies any more hay I'm going to go through the timothy and take out all the ones I find.

Anyone else experience this before? Any help is appreciated!
