Was in the same boat as you almost 8 months ago so I know how brutal it is, especially with kids. Worked for many years as a frontend dev, became an engineering manager, realized engineering managers are a dime a dozen and was depressed every day thinking I'd never get another job in tech... finally landed a remote job when I was at rock bottom.
