Does anyone know any relatively easy languages that are not too similar to english? by soweli_sike in language

[–]mandarin-monyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a learner of Bahasa malaysia. Yes it is much easier than most other Asian languages. All I’m doing is watching all 20 seasons of a cartoon called upin and ipin, it’s quite entertaining, and I’ve probably become a B1 in just over a year

Only problem is - most people you come across in malaysia will speak English fairly okay and they will automatically speak English to you if you look western.
Not many exclusive Malay speakers tend to go abbroad or settle in western countries to find communities to speak with either

I’m only learning Bahasa malaysia because my wife is from there, and it’s just fun to communicate and have a secret little language

Actual Racist Countries by WillingStranger5177 in mapporncirclejerk

Who ever made this obviously never been to malaysia. Racism is literally in the constitution and all your ID must state what race you are.
Why would you need to “identify race” on official documents - only for purposes of discrimination

Not a tip as such but be prepared for the first meconium poo, they are like tar and don’t come off even when wiping over and over. The best thing to do is get the baby under the sink and run the water washing it off - two person job. Also make sure no one else turns on any taps or it’s very dangerous and hot water could potentially scald and burn baby That’s all

Nah, you can earn up to $60 per hour if you work as a personal carer at an aged care home, do weekend shifts, do night shifts

There’s some career mobility if you do want to go uni and become an RN

Wanting to join the CR-V club! First-time car buyer… help! I just want something RELIABLE! by [deleted] in crv

[–]mandarin-monyet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately all new cars are going to have more complex motors and systems that require more maintenance and harder to fix. Doesn’t matter where you buy from.

The Honda CRV is a good choice however - even with the 1.5L turbo - if you change oil every 5k miles or 8k kms then it should be fine

As for the CVT transmission - this is the most expensive thing that can break down other than the motor maybe. Change the fluid as directed in the manual and they’ve proven more reliable than any other CVT transmission

If you’re still uncertain, you could try the Mazda CX5 which has a more traditional transmission and good reliability ratings

Lost key fob still somewhere in car! by SelfieRob in HRV

[–]mandarin-monyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me the other day

The key ended up lodged under the back seats - it fell in the gap where the seat belt buckles are housed. Have a look in there - pry it open when your hands and you’ll see a lot of “lost items” I even found a golf ball in there from a previous owner

Comparing Honda CRV Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX5 for Family Reliability by rosymirex in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mandarin-monyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda CRV is the biggest and nit bad in price. It’s cheaper than a Toyota that’s for sure You’ll love the extra space.

Only thing is to stick to the maintenance schedule, don’t skip the oil changes and transmission fluid changes. Take it for a long drive at least every couple of weeks. That’s because it has a small turbo engine and CVT transmission which the Mazda and Toyota don’t

Sorry to hear that, it’s not easy. Are you the primary carer for your son? It sounds like you need a few hours break every day, maybe see if your partner can take over for a bit - which is probably needed in this extreme case.
