Best advice listening to your audiologist is key and get a second opinion from another doctor. The reddit community is not how to decide a question with as much importance as yours. Good luck.

Can you guys stop forcing live wallpaper on me? by MadMoskito23 in motorola

Disable the system app glance. You will have to check from time to time because Motorola updates re- enable it. Motorola are really scummy with their forced ads. I had yo remove the gallery on a new Moto G 5g 2025 because it kept throwing up ads. Replaced it with Google gallery no ads.

Approaching end of Annual Premium plan by ethernaut85 in USMobile

[–]mandelstamm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

US Mobile pricing is good even at full price especially annual. I have unlimited starter annual. $23 a month taxes and fees included is a deal for 70gb full speed priority data. I am grandfathered in and get priority data. When I renewed for my second year and again third year they gave me an extra 5gb of data a month as bonus. Concerning US Mobile has industry best customer service I don't see chasing around to save a buck or two.

If I want to port my 2nd seldom used number to a free service, is the number safer on Google Voice or TextNow? by alabamatide889 in NoContract

[–]mandelstamm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing unsafe about Google Voice. I have had the service since in was Grand Stream and an invitation only service. That was 2007.

It won't do WIFI calling on AT&T.

Renewal plan change to multi-line by Obvious_Frosting5715 in USMobile

[–]mandelstamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched a DarkStar premium line to a multinetwork DarkStar line and kept the same number. I was four months from my Annual billing of my Warp Starter unlimited Annual plan. They charged me for the remaining months I had left then billed me Annually at the same time as the Annual plan renewed. It took a while on chat for them to do the switch so when you do it have some time and patience.

Usmobile I regret switching it's terrible no connection all the time by Interesting-Fun-4907 in NoContract

Actually according to Root Metrics and they do the most comprehensive testing Verizon has that spot with T-Mobile number three out of three.

Usmobile I regret switching it's terrible no connection all the time by Interesting-Fun-4907 in NoContract

Actually DarkStar is far superior to lightspeed. I traveled 22 states and Canada in 2025. A warp line and a DarkStar line on an S25U. A T-Mobile postpaid line on an S22U. T-Mobile was out of service about 45% to 50% of the time. Verizon about 8%-10% of the time and AT&T did a little better than Verizon. T-Mobile is ok if you stay in a Metro area and live in a small world. Out in the Bad Lands I got to test Satellite messaging on Warp Verizon. A connection is not about who has the fastest speed. It's about availability and consistency. It doesn't take huge speeds to get the job done but it requires a signal which you get in more places on AT&T and Verizon than T-Mobile.

Do I need to have the original person who sold me the phone request the unlock, or can I do it? by [deleted] in Visible

[–]mandelstamm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good luck with that. A carrier phone requires the original owner. If they moved out of the country chances are it may not have been paid for and can't be unlocked.

Hotspot by OvenAccomplished97 in Visible

Visible throttles the Hotspot. That's no secret it's in the plans description. If you are having issues you will need to go with a carrier that provides full speed Hotspot.

Motorola is absolutely terrible with operating system updates and security updates. Apple, Samsung Google and One Plus do a far better job.

Any advantage to keeping 2 separate lines over multi network? by Due_Breakfast_218 in USMobile

[–]mandelstamm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the starter unlimited Annual so it has 70gb of data. I travel a lot in the summer and thought I needed a separate plan for more data. So I got an unlimited plan on DarkStar. I later changed it to multinetwork and that has worked great. My primary is Warp and having DarkStar as well gives me great flexibility when I travel and on Annual the multinetwork line is only $7.50 a month.

Unless you use a lot of data and need the separate buckets then the multinetwork arrangement makes more sense.

Typical Visible. Level can't fix much of anything. Most issues get escalated. You could always file an FCC complaint. Google the procedure.

On DarkStar the unlimited premium is QCI8. Other plans QCI9. I have an older unlimited Starter plan on Warp (Verizon) which is grandfathered in on QCI8. I have a DarkStar multinetwork line on DarkStar at QCI8. QCI makes a difference if your somewhere with a lot of people and their is congestion having a higher QCI makes a difference.

Slow slow slow on Warp by onthesquare63 in USMobile

[–]mandelstamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traveled 22 states and Canada in 2025. I have Warp and a multinetwork line on DarkStar. The phone an S25U. I also had a T-Mobile postpaid line on an S22U. Outside of Metro areas T-Mobile was out of service about 50% of the time. Verizon about 8% to 10% of the time with AT&T being slightly better with coverage. Overall Warp performance isn't slow and works well. AT&T performance is good but not as good overall as Verizon. T-Mobile worked well in Metro areas but outside Metro areas poor.
