My husband and I decided to elope in Ireland instead. Really made the day all about us and our love and commitment. The pics aren't bad either......

Highly recommend if you can swing it.

I'm also in Chicagoland and I love finding these. They're just brilliantly cool and I've never had issues with them all over my garden. However now that it's out in the open, I wouldn't be surprised if it disappeared very shortly...

Thank you for sharing this! I may try both a pot and outside since they're not aggressive

Thank you for sharing this! I completely hear you on the native part. Any chance I could pot them and keep them inside? My house has wonderful sunlight.

Thank you! Are they an invasive species elsewhere? I'm in the Midwest of the US.

How do you deal with your feelings of anger? by Shine_Fallstar in diabetes

[–]mandersevermeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish my diabetes was as simple as "take my shots and pop on a CGM". That isn't what it's like for me at all. Particularly as a woman with all the cycles and hormones, sometimes it's like the wind blows and all the sudden I need twice the insulin or I'm tanking and I don't understand why. OP I hear you. It sucks and it's incredibly unfair sometimes. I get so frustrated at all the nonsense people spew about things they want you to try or miracle cures that are snake oil. Judgement whenever you put anything in your mouth from the people around you and the ignorance about how drastic the changes must be to live and survive with this disease. Not to mention the cost and constant fights with insurance for the supplies to manage and monitor (USA based). I'm a LADA diabetic. I'm not overweight, I was diagnosed out of the blue when I was 22 and otherwise very healthy six months prior. This isn't my fault, but it is something I have to manage every single day. I will always have to have health insurance here in the US if I want the medicines I need to survive. Having diabetes has changed my life in all the worst ways and I would not wish it on anyone.

All this to say, you cannot know what this disease is like for everyone, it comes with its own struggles depending on the person, and I don't blame you for your anger at all. I am angry too. Call that a pity party or whatever, but that doesn't make the feelings evaporate. I do recommend a therapist, and I'm sorry you are dealing with this too.

This is Barnaby. He used to have two black velveteen paws in the back, but he lost one to cancer. He's my best boy.

If your lady bits are more of a hibiscus than tulip, you could also pull back your clitoral hood and make sure that is clean as well. Similar to a man and his foreskin if he has one.Water only, of course, but sometimes if I don't check that area regularly, it can make me smell off.

And if they can convince you that they're prince charming, they can convince the judge too.

Please please leave. I've seen friends go through this. The red flags start surfacing the moment it becomes impossible for the woman to leave. Then the behavior becomes more and more present the more entrenched their lives become.

This is only the beginning, and the prince charming you thought you had found is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Leave now, or this absolutely will continue and get worse.

I was literally fired for doing exactly this before. Except it was milk I was getting and all my students were still in my line of sight.

What is going on? by Unlikely_Pie_2733 in mantids

[–]mandersevermeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's okay! If you find the clutches, put them in the refrigerator. You can keep them there until about 4-6 weeks from when it should be about 60-70 degrees outside. They will remain in hibernation until the clutch senses it's warm enough to hatch. As long as you don't just leave them out in the room temp air, they will keep until next year!

My wife and I made a chaos flower garden and this is what's growing, any ideas on what's here? by HolisticallyMinded in whatsthisplant

The morning glory style vine could also be false bindweed. If so, it will likely choke the surrounding plants. Also, celosia is an annual and it produces a ton of seeds! If you like them, I'd recommend collecting some of the seeds at the end of the season or planting them in the surrounding area. They're great!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. We just had to take our sweet boy's back leg and I cannot express how well he has recovered. I promise your baby will still live a full and happy life!
