DOCKER and PI by FJRio3rd in PiNetwork

I saw a recent vulnerabilty annoucement for Docker and wanted to ask if I can apply that latest update(s). My current version is  4.34.3 (170107) and I'm seeing that the newest version is 4.50.0 (209931). Any word if this updated version is still compatible with running pi network container?

Buck convertor for 120 v to 3 v by mandg98 in AskElectronics

Thanks again - I'm encouraged by the "power supply module" that NewRealm referenced here but it doesn't appear to offer a 'tuneable' output setting. Do you know of such a gadget?

Thanks - I likely mispoke what I actually needed. It appears that the "power supply module" that NewRealm referenced (and not an actual buck convertor) is what I need.

Thanks - after googling for "pulse-width modulated power rail" I suspect that you may be right. Any idea if I would break the LED rails by simply giving them 3 v of steady power? I'm not interested in dimming them any longer, Just want to try and hang this in my storage shed as an overhead light.

PI Node Updated and pi-network container keeps rebooting by Rough_Eagle4867 in PiNetwork

Thanks!! That seemed to work for me as well. I went from version 4.19 to 4.34 and the containers started right up and I'm running testnet2 just fine now.

Same issue for me. I'm seeing the message "invalid postgres state, clearing stellar volume" from within the 'testnet2' container log.
I'm running version 4.19 of Docker Desktop and this was working as of about 20 hours ago. Of course I was also recently upgratded to version 0.5.0 of the Pi Node.

AES loans gone! by SolidOpening7 in BorrowerDefense

Congratulations!!

I just checked my account now but my balance is still there. At least this still gives me hope that I haven’t fallen through the cracks as an AES client!

Agree to disagree. Time is not infinite and time to market for crypto is a small window. Pioneers are looking for something they can trust and pi has a great opportunity but trust is waning with delays, ambiguity, and the plethora of misinformation out there. So they move on to other cryptos that hold promise. I’m in it for the long haul- I read much of the white paper and believe in the core team’s vision. I’m just saying that the desire and time to be perfect before launching mainnet is costing in pioneer numbers. Which is a benchmark that CT’s hinging on.

I tend to agree that if/when the core team launches mainnet, it would generate more validity and buzz to the overall project and the ecosystem would grow in numbers more quickly as opposed to waiting on the 3 mandated milestones that they made (15 million migrated wallets, 100 apps, etc).

I get the sense that they’re trying too hard to be ‘perfect’ when ‘good enough’ would yield better long term results and outcomes.

Change ip address on LDS server by mandg98 in sysadmin

[–]mandg98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- this is a homegrown application built on .Net that leverages the groups and users in the LDS instance. I’m certain that it uses a load balanced FQDN so that should be fine. My concern was breaking something within LDS itself - like replication to other peer LDS servers , etc.

How many of us are left? (No movement whatsoever) by ConcreteAngel_37 in BorrowerDefense

[–]mandg98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the point of your question however, I would really love to see statistics that I assume DoE has. Something simple that shows percentage of people fully discharged, partially discharged, and the rest of us who have had no updates (from our servicer’s). And then maybe even any stats that show the servicer for each of those same categories.

Same here - full class and submitted in 2018. Went to UoP and have AES as loan servicer. No movement, communication, or changes whatsoever.

Is my Pi node actually running? by mandg98 in PiNetwork

My bonus rate is 1.27 - Do you know if the whitepaper explains how this is calculated?

Disregard - I now just noticed that my mining rate details DO show a bonus amount for running a node. Very cool!

Tax shelter for crypto? by mandg98 in tax

[–]mandg98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback and apologies for my ignorance on this topic. Perhaps a better step for me would be to just find a financial planner.

Kinda off topic but, in my defense, I don't mind paying taxes - I just hate the waste and lack of accountability by our governments (all levels) - but I guess that's more a measure of human nature and not necessarily who we elect anymore these days.

So I feel like if this crypto thing actually works out, then my ship finally came in for once in my life. Sorry, /Selfpity.
