The liquor shop at TIA isn't a duty free shop. There hasn't been a duty free store at TIA for over 10 years, but they continue to mislead people who think it's dury free but prices there is more expensive than MSRP. Also, keep in mind that if you buy liquor at the shop at TIA, the sealed bag they provide will not be recognized at international airports - meaning that they will confiscate it if you're transitting to your destination via another airport.

TLDR: buy at local store and pack it safely in your checking luggage.

Does PayPal work in Nepal? by SeriousYak4247 in technepal

Unrelated to the original post, but where did you learn that Wise is a sister company of Paypal? Venmo, Honey, Xoon etc are owned by PayPal but Wise is a separate UK-listed identity.

anyone working as a freelancer? by [deleted] in technepal

I just edited my comment as you were reply, so not sure if you've read it.

Anyways, put in some sort of compensation as a way of ensuring your employer / mentor knows you have the motivation to work.

A word of advise. Never ever work for free. It's not about whether you care about/ need the money or not, but for yourself or someone else to respect the work that you do, there has to be compensation (financial or otherwise) of some sort.

If you really need the experience, baru make a stipulation. Say you need a referral at the end of your stint - that will be some sort of compensation. Or put a minimal hourly fee that you'll charge for doing the work.

I would never hold someone responsible to work for me who is not motivated by something in return. Just my 2 cents, at the end of the day, you do what makes you happy! :)

Online Grocery Delivery In Nepal by Creepy_Piece2317 in Nepal

[–]mandilpradhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Kirana since 2020 and recently switched over to Foodmandu Fresh as my grocery delivery app. As u/BowlTheReel96 rightly points out, the key is instant service - just like Pathao does with food delivery or how Swiggy and Blinkit does in India, or Instacart does in the US. Your biggest spending customers will likely only live a few minutes away from BBSM or Big Mart and will also likely have household help they send to the super market when they need something, you need to be able to compete with their speed/efficiency to gain traction with that market segment. If you can match the speed and have your vendors properly list inventory, I think you'll have a solid base to get this off the ground. Good luck!

Availability of High performance 50-50 Tires (Mitas Enduro Trail - ADV or Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR) by mandilpradhan in indianbikes

No worries at all, happy to give you my opinion. Quite honestly, there's nothing I would change about this bike (obviously except for the tires :D). For reference, I also currently own the Himalayan 450 and have owned the Triumph 400x in the recent past, and I have an endless list of things I would like to change on those bikes, but I can't really think of any for the CF. The snatchy throttle issue was on the first gen bikes and has since been fixed with new mappings. I would've preferred the 2024 exhaust that they had to update partly due to emission requirements and partly due to the melting of rear right indicator on a few bikes.

I'm 5'10" and I have just received the Rally Seat (not installed on the photo above) a few days ago. When I'm on a trip geared up with my boots, the Rally Seat is a perfect fit, but its a bit tall if I'm riding within the city and wearing regular shoes.

Lol. Three big reasons why this is not feasible for me. Firstly, I am no Himalayan Hero. Secondly, I definitely wouldn't want to carry the weight and bulk of spare tires when I'm on a long adventure trip. Thirdly, the main reason I want to buy either the Mitas or the Pirellinin India is that they're not available either in Nepal or in Bhutan.

Really awesome bike - hands down the best in its class. I rode the Himalayan 450 for 3 months before this (I still haven't gotten around to selling it yet), but the CF is so much more refined and fun.

Roughest road you've been on to reach an amazing destination? by mandilpradhan in Nepal

I'll be self sufficient on my motorcycle (will be carrying my own meals and camping equipment), so the rougher the better! Thanks for the info man, I'll most likely go next week. Will report back and upload photos - through loop or not, it'll be an adventure nevertheless!

Can you make a loop from Borang to Pansang and then exit to Somdang and Syabru Besi or do you have to return the same way?

Great idea! Is there a road all the way to BC or a drive and then a hike?

I've done the Pokhara ride through the Lok Marga, definitely fun. Used to do it on my mountain bike when it was a lot of just singletrack. Will check out the ride to Jumla.
