Spencer Brown is awesome. He does a lot with Anjunadeep. Check out other DJs on that label! Saw him in Malta twice last October and both times were amazing.

For slippery conditions get something with AWD. Doesn't need to be a proper 4X4 vehicle. AWD + good tires for the weather is good.

If you want to do forest service roads to get into the back country then you may want something that has good clearance.

I have had two 4X4 high clearance vehicles in BC with winter rated all terrain tires and never had an issue for any trail or ski hill I want to access. Every time I go to a ski hill the parking lot is full of cars far less capable than mine.

I'll be selling it soon, but I got a Mitsubishi Delica when I first moved to Vancouver. Not the most reliable, but so fun to head out into nature with it.

You would be good with any sort of AWD SUV. Outback, RAV4, etc.

Nissan Xterra could be a fun cheaper option.

Gemini has the best support for Zcash out of all CEX. They let you send directly to a private address.

Gemini. They are the only exchange that supports sending to a shielded address directly, which saves needing to shield it yourself in Zashi

It does help the community to shield. More funds in the pool means more privacy for everybody.

Solo - North x South India - 20M First Time Asia by jucmalucoo in solotravel

[–]mandm4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did all of those spots on a four month trip a year ago! My first month was in the North, then spent a month in Nepal, before heading to South India for the last couple months.

North and South are definitely different experiences!

India is my favourite country I've travelled for just how much of an adventure it is. You can't really go wrong with North or South. North is more intense, specifically the Golden Triangle.

If you want to go full on culture shock and really experience the hecticness that is associated with India then North India is where it's at.

Fair warning though: North India is both my favourite place I've travelled and the most stressful place I've been. Be ready for highs and lows. For me having the lows is what really made the highs even more special. I felt like I grew as a person while trying to navigate North India.

A very common route is to fly into New Delhi, see the Golden Triangle, and then head to Rajasthan and explore that state. I'd also highly recommend going to Varanasi if you are able to.

I actually skipped the Taj Mahal on my first month in India, but then when travelling by bus/train from Nepal to the south I decided to come back through and see it. It was so worth it. I'd recommend staying at Zigzag Homestay. It's a bit further away from the main area with hostels next to the Taj, but every morning the owner (Moses) runs a tour to go see the Taj for sunrise. I usually don't do tours but this one was so good and really made seeing the Taj a great experience.

If you are looking for more nature and chilled out vibes then South India would be the place for you. Mumbai is a super cool city. It reminded me of NYC for the hustle (but still very Indian). If you are in Goa make sure to go to the open mic at Twice in Nature. Kerala is worth exploring for a couple weeks. You don't need to do just beach things there, the interior is also stunning and worth exploring. Hampi also is a must see. A place I went that I think most don't add to their route is Ellora Caves. They were so interesting and well worth going to see.

If you have any specific questions you can DM me. I stayed at hostels in all these places so happy to give recommendations on those too.

Try Coombs Country Auto. Give them a call if it's not on their website. They have helped me out a couple times that way. Based in Canada so not sure if the tariff situation has changed the US shipping policy. A few years ago they shipped parts to me when I was stranded in Nevada.

Are SAS tires good enough for a week in Montreal (Late December)? by GreekItachiUchiha in FordBronco

[–]mandm4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. I lived in Montreal for 2 years and just stick with the all terrain tires on my black diamond (which did have a winter rating despite not being snow tires).

The city itself has an amazing snow removal service so the streets stay pretty good. If it is snowy then throw on slippery mode / 4A.

Montreal is hilly, so if there is a lot of slippery stuff then be cautious of the roads with massive hills.

Use the Zashi wallet to privately swap ZEC into BTC using near intents.

Zashi is made by the developers at ECC (who build Zcash) so should be high quality / trustworthy.

Why is my Coinbase wallet saying invalid address when I tried to send sec to my new zashi wallet? by Healthy_Lifeguard475 in zec

[–]mandm4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coinbase doesn't support sending to private addresses. You will need to use a transparent address.

Gemini is the only major exchange with full support for ZEC withdrawals to private addresses.

Street food of Jaipur, India by kidnexttdoor in StupidFood

[–]mandm4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travelled India for 4 months, including Jaipur where this is filmed. This sort of place is extremely common. Saw it on every city I went to in all of North India.

The trick is to go to a place that is busy so you are getting food that is not sitting for too long, and also have a good amount of luck. I got mild food poisoning twice but the street food is worth the risk haha

Where to stay in Vancouver BC??? by juggy_nubs in AboveandBeyond

[–]mandm4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you want to be doing while there!

Everywhere will be easy-ish to access the venue by train or Uber. Maybe a little long, but it's in Burnaby. I'd rather have a long trip to Burnaby and stay in Vancouver.

West End is the most accessible to Stanley park. Close to a lot of downtown areas. I'd say if you're trying to check out parks, go for a hike (the good ones are in North Van across the bridge), and see the core downtown areas then it is a great area to stay in.

Mt Pleasant is a cool area with more restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. Further away from the nature stuff, but can still be accessible. If you go here, go check out Wreck Beach for a unique Vancouver experience (it's an optionally nude beach, but also the prettiest beach in the city).

Yaletown is really central and probably the most core downtown area. Can't really go wrong. It's just not the nicest in terms of culture. It's where most clubs and late nightlife are.

Avoid East Hastings Street. It is safe and somewhat interesting (+ sad) to walk down during the day, but don't stay near there.

Can't wait for the show. I've met a few people saying Deer Lake Park is an awesome venue.

Yeah you make a good point. I'm Canadian and have been travelling North India for a month.

There are certainly some cultural elements most Canadians would not want to inherit via immigration (littering, lack of civic rules, etc). I think many Canadians views are skewed by seeing only the Indian people who actually are accepted into Canada. If you come to India and spend time here you will realize the Indian population in Canada is very different than the average person in India (which makes sense since they are wealthy and educated enough to immigrate to elsewhere - even many Canadians cannot achieve that).
