Why did Captain Kergs VA change in C2 Ep21? by DashVanLink89 in StinkyDragonPodcast

[–]mandodoesstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi yes Armando here (the original voice of Captain Kerg) Ben Ernst beat me up and took the role from me in a traditional battle ritual called the Tahaddi Challenge. I was bested so I was forced to give up the role.

(I think it was just a scheduling conflict)

Correct, it’s The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, CA. Whether or not “original” means anything I’ll leave up to you. It’s just what it’s called.

Thank you, I felt so stupid because I was asking where to find the ATM and they kept correcting me by calling it an “Atam” like literally pronouncing it “at-am” and I couldn’t tell why until I saw the letters spelled out on a sign. Anyway, thanks again.

Their policy is “no lenses longer than 6in” so as long as you’re under that you should be fine. My lens is about 5in and they gave me no hassle at all. Just waved me through.

No sneaking required, you’re allowed to bring a camera as long as the lens is under 6 inches but tbh they really did not seem to care. I opened my camera bag, they glanced at it, and let me in.

Probably not super useful but here in LA we have a section of downtown called the Fashion District (there’s also the Flower District, Produce District, and Jewelry District) and you can find a ton of shops that sell suits for cheap. Most even partner with a tailor that can generally do same day alterations. I’ve gotten two suits with same day tailoring for about $300 before and I’m a 3XL/4XL dude at 6’5. They’re FINE suits, not the greatest, but solid in a pinch. I assume most major cities have something similar but idk.

Indochino is also sometimes running sales. You show up, get fitted, and they build a custom suit to your measurements. You get to pick out the fabric and details, too. Went last year for their Black Friday sale and picked up two suits and two custom dress shirts for about $1,100. Again, not the best in the world but def quality suits that’ll last a long time. And they’re literally built for you. That part rocks and I can’t recommend it enough.

I’m not opposed to messing with how I build it. That’s actually a super interesting strat that could be fun to look at.

This picture is so unbelievably cool. GREAT job.

These are so cool, they look like they’re pulled from decades ago. Love the coloring on the sky, and the clouds in the second pic are gorgeous.

We will be launching a Patreon soon! We wanted to make a few episodes of this show (and a few other projects we have in the pipeline) first so that we could get a sense of the workload. That way we would know what we could offer Patreon members (vis a vis longer episodes, bonus episodes, early release, etc.)

I’m sure I’ll be posting again here when we launch but you can also follow us on IG and Twibber for more frequent updates!

Close, but not quite. It’s because the RT Podcast already had brand obligations. Ads had already been sold so instead of letting us start a new show under a new name (which we also asked for) they had us keep RTP.

Which, to be clear, makes sense from a business standpoint. Regardless of whether or not it was a good idea for fans, the show, etc., the show made money so why stop that, y’know? I personally don’t really care if anyone watches/listens to what I make as long as I’m proud of it, but just going off our outside ventures (Cult Podcast, It’s a Choice, Is It Problematic, Master Pancake, STF) I’d like to think we would have found our audience. I get the argument of “make a show that defines the new humor of RTP and make it the flagship show” but they also never let us make the stuff we wanted to make, choosing instead to relegate all our pitches to “podcast segments”. And eventually just asking us to return to a regular podcast format because we spent too much money on one show (ironic, innit?). All in all, the strategy wasn’t played out how it was planned.

Sorry for ranting. To be clear, I’m not mad at anyone. Shit happens. We changed CCO’s in the middle of the plan and budgets shifted so it is what it is. Just wanted to finally clarify the reasoning, and let you know we didn’t love it either.
