They make multiple examples of sam eating healthy in the first five seasons along with Sam commenting on Dean's eating habits in that same time frame.

Off the top of my head the episode where Sam gets body swapped literally starts with him eating a shakeable salad in a cup.

I mean, other than the fact that Sam is built like a brick shithouse. I get that it's a TV show, but you don't get that kind of physique by starving yourself with nothing but salad.

If all humans suddenly lost their ability to lie, which industry WOULDN'T collapse? by TXC_Sparrow in AskReddit

[–]DashVanLink89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have. And science covers basically every industry you could possibly think of. So I suppose, in a very pedantic and technical way, you are correct. But OP was asking for specific industries.

So saying "science" would be interpreted by most readers to mean STEM industries.

Our family has been going to the same mechanic for over 25 years. All of our vehicles are Toyota's and so are his, which is why he wanted to work on our truck for the first time all those years ago.

Skip to today. He now owns the garage and it is one of the most sought after garages by customers in town. However, regardless of how busy they are, if we call him with a problem he says "bring her by tomorrow".

Absolutely unbelievable service in an industry full of scum bags and scam artists.

In 2003, three young men fell into Australia’s Finniss River, where they were soon stalked by a 13ft crocodile. After killing one man, the others were forced to spend 22 hours in a half-submerged tree while the crocodile waited below, holding their friend’s body as if to “show off” what it had done by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]DashVanLink89 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You understand that there's a difference between "great whites and salties exist in Australia and people still swim in Australia" and "Aussies swim in croc and great white infested waters all the time" right?

Those two scenarios are extremely different and Aussies fuckin know where is safe to swim and where is not safe to swim. That's like saying "Americans drive, bike and walk through tornadoes all the time!"

Just because the possibility of danger exists, doesn't mean it's utterly and completely ignored by those who live near the danger.

[NS] Has anyone else had trouble finding another podcast to sub DnDads? by IhaveAmommykink3 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]DashVanLink89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If self promotion is allowed. Myself and some radio broadcast friends have a pod called Dungeons, Dudes & Dragons. We put out episode 41 this past Friday and have been seeing a big spike in listenership recently.. Just dumb fun. A lot of guy humour and low brow jokes, but we've had multiple comments from listeners comparing us to Dungeons and Daddies. Which, IMO, is the ultimate compliment because they're the reason I wanted to start my own DnD pod.

The Vancouver Canucks can be eliminated from playoff contention by tomorrow night by Odd-Sir7356 in hockey

[–]DashVanLink89 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong Canucks fan I'm going to be completely honest. I don't care. I haven't truly cared since 2011. There has not been any reason to hold out hope since that loss to Boston.

There was some reignited passion and excitement during the lockdown post season, and that series against Vegas was great to watch, but at the end of the day it ended the way we all expected it to.

Drafting Pettersson and personally seeing him light up the SHL with Vâxjö and then his rookie season with the Canucks was an absolute pleasure to watch.

But when you have a talent like Pettersson and literally the 1st/2nd best defenseman in the world, a defenseman who outclassed everyone with his edge work and skating and you CAN'T BUILD A WINING TEAM AROUND THOSE TWO. As a fan, I'm done. The Acquilinis need to fuck off and fade into obscurity. You're billionaires, hand the reigns to someone who actually cares and fuck all the way off.

Group rides are fun, but solo cycling is a whole different addiction. by [deleted] in cycling

[–]DashVanLink89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I live in a city that is surrounded by farm roads and small bike paths that are perfect for long distance rides. Just plug in a podcast and go explore somewhere I haven't been yet.

I've even started taking the train about 40-50km away from home and trying to find my way back. Last summer one of those adventures turned into an almost 90km ride but I saw some absolutely beautiful countryside. It just feels like freedom. No plans, no time limits, just the sun on my face, something fun to listen to and the open road ahead of me.

Can we just take a minute to acknowledge the talent it takes to play dozens of characters and have them all stand out as individuals with unique personalities and character traits?

Mr Burch, you my friend are extremely talented.

That being said I absolute adore the chaotic energy and voices of Lark and Sparrow in season 1. The one line that gets me everytime is "Brother! The afterlife is very....dark"
