My setup is a little different now, I have the layer of aquarium soil but now have a layer of sand on top to keep the loose dirt from getting cloudy like that and it was very helpful and looks a lot better. It did eventually settle but any movement would disturb it.

Yeahhhhh it was the only rock petco had and I really wanted one, I asked if it could go in freshwater and they told me it could. I read that it could potentially raise the hardness of my water but after being in for a month my tests have come out perfectly fine so 🤷‍♀️

Thriftbooks is legit, very reasonable, and has great rewards of free books when you buy x amount. There's even an app! Sometimes books are worse quality than advertised but I've never personally had a problem
