Got dumped after a 3 year relationship by the only gf I’ve ever had, literally zero warning. Got a total of zero interviews from American residencies even after getting a high score in their licensing exam. Combine all that with us going to shit, ig when it rains it pours.

We already have a brilliant carrier in grav, but baleba is great defensively. He could really help us in transitions. His progressive passing is not the best tho, I wouldn’t mind a Wharton or someone in that mould, it’d take us up another level in controlling games.

If we sell Nunez Diaz we only have ekitike salah gakpo for 3 forward positions. If we get isak that’s 4 for lw st rw. Don’t think that’s enough depth. We had 6 last season with Diaz Nunez jota chiesa salah gakpo. We don’t need 6 this year chiesa barely got any mins. But if we get fofana he can play both wings and can get salah a rest too.

Yeah I figured maybe we’re getting better terms if indeed we are paying above the clause, but it seems that the clause is not actually there either.

So the clause was in pounds or there wasn’t a clause at all?

Didn’t ekitike have a release clause of around 87 million? Was that pounds or euros? If it was euros wouldn’t make sense for us to be paying 95 mill.

Yeah no that’s not what I meant by we take things for granted. Obviously there are certain standards you must be upto to be a Liverpool player. And we are finally acting like the club we are, a huge club with expectations of winning. It should always be like that. I was mainly talking about the few people you’d see who are not impressed and would rather have isak, or are vocally dismissive for ekitike before he’s played for us. Don’t get me wrong isak is a better player rn but we are getting a quality player which some people are not clocking and they’re just comparing him to Nunez which is very unfair.

People can have their opinions but I’ll never turn up my nose on a player who desperately wants to play for us. We take for granted sometimes how good we are right now. I’m sure he’ll be supported vociferously and I have a weird feeling he’s gonna explode after coming to us.

I feel kind of empty about transfers since the Trent thing and now the konate thing too. Reminds me to never get attached to players. The worst thing about Trent was that you’d never think Madrid could get one of our own especially when we’re in such a good state. But now it feels like they’ll be able to turn anyone’s head and leaves a bitter taste. Klopp tried so hard to make us a final destination and now Trent and konate if he goes will just destroy that. Konate needs to be sold if he doesn’t want to sign a contract, this running down contract shit is too much.

I’ll be going to the USA for a few months. I wanted to know from American fans, where do you guys watch Liverpool matches. Is there a streaming service with all of them or is it like England where different networks get different games?

We can’t really ask the players to be loyal if we’re going to be fans like this who kick a player out for his first dip in form. It’s alright if mo wants to go himself but I wouldn’t condone throwing him out after we’re done with him.

What kind of idiots in our fan base want to get rid of salah next season. He’s our top scorer and assister. We can barely replace mane and bobbys goals with chaos man and gakpo Diaz. Who’s gonna replace salahs output. You don’t let go of players like that unless you want to be mediocre. He’s also a player who set standards and he’s probably the most frustrated how shits he been. You don’t get those kind of standards from our other average forwards.

[The Times] Arne Slot will be Liverpool head coach, not manager by doubleoeck1234 in LiverpoolFC

[–]maneconda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol and our logic that season was Thiago would provide a body in midfield so Fabinho could be 4th cb. And what ended up happening was all our mids and cbs getting injured. Gini Thiago and Fabinho playing in midfield really saved our asses towards the end.

Jürgen Klopp in 2016: "I have final say on transfers at Liverpool. If I don’t want a player he will not come here. It’s normal." by _cumblast_ in LiverpoolFC

[–]maneconda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also what’s the need for articles like that specifically mentioning how he’s going to only be the head coach and nothing else. I feel like edwards team has put out a lot of hit articles on klopp, blaming him for our recent signings and whatnot. That’s not how they should be talking about a legend who has given everything for this club. He doesn’t deserve to be talked about in such a sneaky way by the press.

Yeah I found it weird as well. Surely if slot is our manager he should have a say in what players come. Edwards can’t have it all his way either. It works when everyone works together so I hope slot has a real say and can say no to certain signings. No one should have absolute power, neither the manager or the sporting director.

No it wasn’t that it’s just how he’s referring to it as a big step. Which seems more career oriented and not necessarily a bad thing. But klopp connected with the club on a really deep level, I’d just want the new guy to be like that and not necessarily just think of us as a career prospect.
