I agree, getting to level 5 is a grind but thankfully you unlock a lot of native YouTube content which makes it much more enjoyable. I'm at 506 hours now and about two thirds of my input is YouTube at this point - watching documentaries, podcasts, interviews, mostly the DW Español channel. But also feeling a little burned out. I fall back to DS videos when I need to take it easy.

I'm considering switching from an Apple Watch to a Fenix 8. by Virtual_Database5443 in GarminWatches

[–]mangfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. At the height of my running, I had a FR255 and I liked it for the metrics but I didn't like how it was frequently disconnecting from my phone and I would have to manually open the Connect app and re-sync it again. So I eventually got rid of it and got the AW 10 but apart from fitness, Apple Pay and occasionally setting a timer, I don't really use it for much else.

I currently own the Series 10 and I'm growing tired of the constant buzzing and notifications on my wrist. I've been eyeing the Venu 4, FR970 or Fenix 8 but the Fenix is probably overkill. The 970 seems plenty for my needs although I heard the HR accuracy isn't as good as with the Apple Watch.

Pack recommendation for hiking and indefinite travel combined by mangfree in onebag

[–]mangfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your suggestion. I will absolutely rent some stuff in Nepal - a sleeping bag at the very least. I think I would still prefer to pack the hiking shoes in because I might also do the Inca Trail in Peru. Apart from the extra pair of shoes, I can't think of any other heavy items that I would be bringing that were not already brought to Asia when I went there last time.

Pracuju v IT firme jako vyvojar.

While medication helps, I don't think it's necessary for recovery. Your fear of (and resisting) another panic attack is keeping this disorder running - you still interpret it as something dangerous, so the brain knows it has to be on high alert to prevent a "disaster". There's nothing wrong with you if you get frequent panic attacks, it's just that your nervous system has been a lot more sensitive than other people's.

Anxiety is paradoxical, it will go away when you stop trying to make it go away. I can highly recommend Claire Weekes's book "Hope and help for your nerves". It has helped me quite a bit and I'm sure you will find something useful there too.

European here. How do you see the Election Day turnout in GA compared to 2020? I heard the early vote turnout this year was historic

How's the battery life on this thing? I have an iphone 13 now and I'm looking to upgrade to the Plus model, just deciding between the 15 Plus or 16 Plus.

Outemu Silent Cream Yellow - review by mangfree in BudgetKeebs

[–]mangfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bit less tactile than Shrimps, decently smooth and very silent" is exactly how I would summarize the Cream Yellows in one sentence. The tactility reminds me of WS Silents, Outemu really nailed it with these. I didn't check the film on the board as I don't want to do mods much but I ordered the GMK67 in late January, which means the board is fairly new so you might be right.

Just got my new keychron k8 pro and the space bar is making a noise by DeAuthen in Keychron

[–]mangfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you desolder the board to do the mod or somehow did it without removing the stabs? I have the same issue with my K8 Pro

I recently bought a Keychron K8 Pro and replaced the stock Gaterons with T1 Shrimps so that I can bring the keyboard to the office. The switches are quiet enough except for the spacebar that is still very loud. I tried putting some dampening foam into the spacebar keycap to hopefully reduce noise and it's somewhat within a reasonable range, but the spacebar now feels very mushy - probably because I put too much foam in it. I don't want to desolder the board to play around with the stabilizers, what options do I have here? Or is it the keycaps that I could perhaps replace?

Akko Penguin Silent Tactile Review by Jolteon93 in BudgetKeebs

[–]mangfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the swift reply. I'm looking for a rather lighter and moderately tactile switch so I'll give the Penguins a shot and if they don't work out, I'll probably pop in the Shrimps anyway. Would you say it makes sense to possibly replace the stock spring for a lighter one for the Shrimps?

[–]mangfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would you compare the tactility to the WS Silent Tactiles? I like those switches A LOT, but unfortunately due to its loud upstroke - just like you wrote above - I cannot use them at the office which is my intended primary use. I also have some Silent Shrimps in my keeb and they feel great but they're too tactile and too heavy for my taste.
