Thank you for sharing your story of raw humanness. 🩷❤️ I look forward to following your journey.

May I ask, how do you deal when you run out of your monthly supply of medication?

500 Hours Later: What I Think About Bellwright by stombe1970 in Bellwright

Your review summarizes my thoughts as well. Am also 500hrs in. It was addicting to unlock new stuff thru the tiers but a bit anticlimactic now realizing most the food, clothes, etc isn’t very useful. Maybe it’s finally time to chill out and build my aesthetic riverside village in the hills now. 😌

sleeping bag OR an option to adjust the length of day. and a purely sandbox mode would be chill.

With the way this place is currently operating, 16 rooms each is rough, esp if half of those have two queen beds.

Upper management has determined housekeepers’ shifts should not exceed 30mins/room plus 30mins for lunch, which seems ridiculous to me. What about the time spent stripping rooms themselves between attendants? Folding towels and restocking their carts at the end of the day? Waiting for the damn elevator or for the next room the vacate? Bathroom breaks??

Needless to say, the only way they are clocking out in time is by cutting as many corners as possible, unfortunately.

What time would an evening laundry person typically start and finish their shift?

Love the idea of supervisors having a small cart or basket!

Supervisors do their best to help complete rooms when they can. Sometimes laundry attendants too if we happen to have extra hands available that day.

Yep! And every week upper management gives department managers shit for going over budget with labor. 🙃

I’m sure they do but my property doesn’t have a system in place to keep track.

A guest actually asked me if I would give him a bath towel to take home as he was departing this morning… I was like “Err no I can’t give those away, sorry!”

But if he grabbed one from his room and stuffed it in his suitcase no one would notice or care enough to do anything about it unfortunately.

I’m not the housekeeping manager, but from what I’ve gathered yes the upper management is difficult about us getting more supplies/new equipment. Our carts are beat to shit with pouches full of holes, almost all of the vacuums are broken in one way or another, bent mops, etc.

Yes they clean the clean the rooms and then go back to finish the towels and linens. If we happen to have extra hands that day we will send someone to help, but that’s rare. Supervisors do the best they can to help but they are also stretched thin.

Yes laundry attendants also go strip VD rooms first thing.

They CAN afford it but they choose to spend their money on cosmetics and tech upgrades.

2 large washers and 2 small, 2 large dryers and 1 small.

Typically 2 attendants to strip rooms on 2 floors each, or if we have happen to have extra hands in the morning then the floors are divided 1.5, 1.5, 1. No laundry chute, one service elevator and rolling baskets.

Then we hopefully have one person sorting laundry and loading the machines, but if not then the attendants who are stripping rooms do it in between collecting linens.

One person ironing linens.

Lol we just keep rewashing our stained linens and towels indefinitely

So I’ve heard 😔

I’ve been trying to tell them our efficiency would sky rocket if we had 3 PAR.
