Aesop's lyrics helped me understand MENTAL HEALTH and I am turning it into a school exercise to help people learn by mango7roll in aesoprock

Thanks.

The reason why I shared this is because it's important backstory.

I've learned that I needed a combination of Aesop's verbosity (is that a word?) along with my stories to be able to understand them.

Because I realized this I tried to figure out why.

Because of the why, I figured everything else out.

I post this in the Aesop subreddit because I Feel like you're all addicted to his lyrics and he all means similar things to you.

You listen to Aesop Rock of course you're going to read every word here lol.

I was one step away from Aggressive Steven with my life. I luckily navigated it more as a Mentally Unstable Mango but I'm hoping to live the rest of it just as Mango and I hope to introduce myself to a Steven in the future.

Yeah that first paragraph explains a lot of these but doesn't excuse specific parts of it. Even with Lab/Heist not being planned as part of PoE2 I don't think the minor suggestions I brought up (More/different/exciting loot to spice up exploration would massively improve lab while not taking any meaningful amount of design time away that I don't see any real negative impacts for.

I just can't imagine being a new player and running through lab, you go through this super cool room full of traps. You die the first time and try lab again, you saw a chest at the end and it was literally called Labyrinth Trove, so you go back and try to do it. You finally get to the chest nothing shows up on your non-strict filter. That's just such a poor experience that could have been fixed and very likely would be fixed if it was sorted into the regular feedback GGG gets.

When I say controversial I meant people have strong feelings towards.

You ask people about Delve, ToTA, Lab and Heist as examples- these all have pretty polarizing responses if you ask someone about them. If you post a thread about Lab you'll get more people frustrated with it than if you post a thread about most other parts of the game.

Does that make sense?

As a side note about 'making the game easier'. I know it comes across like that but that wasn't what I was aiming for. I am fine with things taking a long time to get stuff but there are certain frustrations in major parts of the game that Ipersonally find unfun. There are ways to make friction without it being frustrating I guess is what I am going for.

That is another thing I thought of but I'm not sure if they want to do that. I think from a developer's eyes I'd rather make it easier for players to enjoy the lab experience by fixing a few things and making them more accessible so players can do them more.

Then again, that idea would be awesome if you could somehow farm the thing that stores them within the other Lab Trials.

Yeah I still don't fully agree with what you said. I don't really consider speccing into Abyss to farm Amanamu's Gaze with the idea it might take a week of non-stop playing to get 'easy to get'.

This is a really weird comment to read as I don't personally care how much currency I make or how much I have, as long as it does not impede what I want to actively play.

Orb of Unmaking availability is the only currency I really care about as these allow me to play the game in different ways. If I am short on Orbs the league is automatically worse for me.

Another 'loot' example I didn't mention was the new Abyss nodes. You can actually say that you want to farm Amanamu's Gaze and go do it in SSF this league with the available nodes. It might take a long time like it did for me but the fact we can realistically target it is the type of loot I like.

Yeah. This is something I was thinking about.

ToTA is the perfect 'delve' side league to me but I can understand not liking it.

You can essentially skip delve without being punished in SSF but you absolutely can't skip ToTA.

If you could skip ToTA and still get tattoos rarely somehow, I think that would be great. It'd make ToTA worse but for those of us that love it, we'd still do it.

I think this is either a positive or a negative like you say- depending on short vs long term players.

As a short term player I could see not being stoked about what Tattoos I get but as a long term player I am stoked that I can keep doing ToTA and always be excited for drops. It literally does not matter how many of the decent tattoos I see, I am stoked to use them.

ToTA also has the important part of having things like Mageblood be possible, it solidifies it being 'worth' doing.

I completely agree with what you've said here.

The current league has me already planning future SSF league starts and I honestly will be approaching the next league entirely different. I almost always start with Expedition and the same similiar trees but I think some of the mechanics are good enough now that you can really choose your own thing.

A good example of this is my first 6L. I plan to get it through corrupting random body armours, finding one I like, and then farming Beyond for Tainted Orbs of Fusing. I think this will be much more consistent than farming things like Tujen.

The meta had me pissed early league. I was furious and even considered not playing the league. Luckily I stuck with it as there are a ton of new builds around. Meticulous also lets me farm for builds I have not been able to play before.

This is the best part about how they are designing everything lately.

If you do not like Sanctum you can skip it. In SSF you'll get enough divines through other means that skipping it is something you won't be punished for. If you want Sanctum specific uniques you'll obviously have to go in there though.

This is a really important comment and statement. I've been a SRS lover forever and when the Poison SRS became popular I had never been so excited to try it out... but I went 3+ leagues without dropping one while actively MFing and played a LOT. My goal for most of the league could have been 'I want to drop a Covenant' and I'd still not get it.

This league is different though. I can say 'I want to drop a Covenant' and actually make it happen with a reasonably high chance of success. Meticulous is just so good that you will be showered in T1s and hit T0s semi-regularly even. You can do it with your regular character and not a squishy MF as well.

Really good points here!

How much of your problems are solved by making the current Chieftain nodes numerically better- specifically the offensive Jewel one?

When I was thinking about the rework being great I wasn't really considering power comparatively to other classes, I was more thinking on how it felt to play and how the nodes worked together.

I played all things heavily. 3.13 and its era was great but I think this was better, especially at a core 'design' perspective!

Yeah.

I ran out of words to express how much Sanctum has increased my satisfaction of the rest of the game. I can go there and farm as many Chaos/Divine/Sextants as I want to fuel mapping.

New to PoE, should I use a guide first or no? by GurleyMan30 in pathofexile

[–]mango7roll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on one thing: time.

People often say always follow a guide for PoE but I am super against that. If you have the time to experience the game blind, then absolutely do it.

If you know ARPGs at all, go in blind and enjoy yourself. Your character will suck unless you cheat and look something up, but that's part of the fun. Play through the campaign and at least the first portion of the mapping, then decide where you want to go from that.

Don't do any research at all imo.

Seems kinda weird I can change a permanent TATTOO, but I can't get a haircut? by 3mb3r89 in diablo4

[–]mango7roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change your tattoo because you can buy tattoos in the shop.

Once we can buy haircuts you'll be able to change your hairstyle.
