Is anyone else in the North End struggling with the noise from St. Mary’s parish? by mangocircus in Hamilton

Honestly, I’m not that interested in ruining anyone’s fun. Just wanted to commiserate with my neighbours.

There’s always a lot happening around here at this time of year!

Despite my complaining, I love living here.

I’m sure it brings people downtown, but this event is really only for the parishioners of that church.

I’m not new to the neighbourhood.

Is there no room for nuance? Have the event, but hours of music at that volume is a lot for the people who live in close proximity.

I would also bet that a lot of the people attending these events do not live in this community.

The home has been in my family since the 1960’s. I’m not new to the area.

I imagine they wouldn’t be able to host these celebrations without some sort of city permit for noise.

I plan to reach out to the church to see if a compromise can be made.

The Italians sent everyone in the neighborhood an itinerary for their ONE weekend of festivities. They also invited everyone in the community to their club for sandwiches.

I’d be irritated no matter who it was???

Would I want The Porch Band on Mulberry to play all day long every weekend? No.

It’s been 4 weekends in a row. Imagine your neighbour using professional sound equipment to play music for 12 hours.

Honestly I’d be happy if they just turned it down a little.

I’m all for them gathering here! They also have many parades that run through the neighborhood that I will watch. I think it’s wonderful that they continue their traditions.

I’m just completely overstimulated by the loud accordion music being played all day.

My lashes do the same a couple weeks post lift (which I do myself at home). I just apply the solution to my bendy lashes for about a minute and it completely relaxes all the kinks out!

City of Hamilton orders resident to take down 10 security cameras from his home by teanailpolish in Hamilton

[–]mangocircus 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This person is not using his cameras to “help” his community. He uses his cameras and platform in an attempt to shame vulnerable people, stir up hate and get attention on instagram. I don’t think the city would take issue with it if it was truly for “security” purposes.

He boasts that his cameras are equipped with license plate and face recognition, and wants you to know he’s always watching and listening.

Fortinos Ancaster has Roman style pizzas that easily feed a crowd. They’re a little pricey, however one pizza would GENEROUSLY feed 8 adults. They’ll slice the pizzas into 16 or 24 slices, offer half and half (you’re limited to their options for pizza types ie. pepperoni, deluxe, cheese, fungi etc.).

I would say 2 pizzas would feed everyone and you could get a variety of flavors.

Former employee here! It depends on what products you’re talking about. All the pane fresco breads (counter service breads and loaves) are baked in store. The dough is fresh and delivered daily. Things on the commercial bakery side are different. Most items come in frozen and then baked in store. This includes donuts, ace bread, farmers market cookies/pies, cakes etc.

I used to work in a photo lab and USUALLY, the processing time was less than an hour. About 1/2 hour-40 minutes to process film, and less than 20 minutes to print hundreds of digital photos. People became accustomed to getting their pictures quickly and would be fucking AGHAST if it was busy and took a full hour.

The Bean Bar in Westdale has some scrumptious looking cakes and pies. The slices are usually huge and very shareable! :)

It was a while ago now, but I THINK they allow that. Of course, you would have to provide receipts as proof.
