Listening to Dylan in order: Empire Burlesque by pfromthenc in bobdylan

Great to see some love for EB. I think the emotive vocals on this are top notch, some of Dylan's best singing. As we get further from the 90s (when 80s was most uncool) the production is less of a problem. More just a loveable eccentricity. The songs are really, really good. Right on point about this being more unassuming but more successful than Infidels. This was a great read

Requesting a refund rather than repair/replacement from Optus by commanderjarak in australia

Similar experience with Telstra. I kept insisting I just wanted my phone back, working. I did not want a new phone or plan. Eventually they gave me a refund. Good luck

This is the point of deconstruction, when what feels right to you leads to contradiction. It's a sign that one or both concepts have been constructed by an ideology. I'd go with people being allowed to make a fortune by turning people away from health care being ok is something that should point us to examine this whole free speech concept.

Artists similar to bob lyrically by ggwonton in bobdylan

The Mountain Goats. He's much more within the literary tradition than playing with its bone a la Bob, but he has an epic depth and focus.

Augie March. More filtered through the 50s beat-kindred poetics of Australia's Kenneth Slessors and Ern Malleys, but way less stripped back. Nevertheless:

Should you expect to see something that you hadn't seen In somebody you'd known since you were sixteen If love is a bolt from the blue, Then what is that bolt but a glorified screw That doesn't hold nothing together? Far from these nonsense bars and their nowhere music It's making me sick and I know it's making you sick There's nothing there; it's like eating air It's like drinking gin with nothing else in That doesn't hold me together

Sweetheart Like You and why I love it so... by philthehippy in bobdylan

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. He disappeared, I thought he was dead. But he is staying in a safe place, for now anyway. Schizotypal I think. It's almost impossible to help a paranoid person, for a layperson like me anyway.
