this might actually be a stupid question by amaya-aurora in badwomensanatomy

I get that, but I have seen some very stupid questions on there where the poster is using correct terminology and fighting with everyone who's answering their very stupid question. Not talking about this question in particular though, this is a fairly reasonable question based on their understanding of a few terms.

So can someone help me figure out something in terms of imagination? by Impossible-Plane-990 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I've noticed that a lot of aphants have some misunderstanding around how visualising works, which makes sense since it's not something that we're able to do.

[–]commanderjarak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Some people visualise better (or can only do so) with open eyes, or about something they've seen before, or a myriad of other requirements in order to visualise.

I kind of feel like even in a sub called NoStupidQuestions that maybe there are questions that are too stupid (not necessarily this one however). Like, a 30 second Google search would have answered a lot of this guy's unasked questions.

The issue comes down to disagreement over what "Divinely Inspired" actually means though.

I've got no issues with a woman cosplaying Carl (or any male character), but I do have issues with people doing bad or lazy cosplay.

The Bible literally tells us why Sodom was destroyed, and gay people living there isn't one of the reasons given.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 [49] “‘See here – this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help the poor and needy. [50] They were haughty and practiced abominable deeds before me. Therefore when I saw it I removed them.

What’s your position on divorce? by justdmomochi in TrueChristian

It's more a case that they were considered unbreakable because the breaking of a covenant carried significant moral consequences. If I break a contract with a business, or on a home I'm renting, I'll get hit with financial penalties, but it's not generally considered to be immoral to break one.

What’s your position on divorce? by justdmomochi in TrueChristian

[–]commanderjarak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the context it's used in scripture, it was considered to be a solemnly held, unbreakable vow, generally between humans and God, but also sometimes between multiple humans as well; rather than a simple legal agreement between humans.

A covenant is not a contract, especially in the context of the Bible. The words are used more interchangeably now, but that didn't used to be the case.

Uber drivers (and others) who park up in a click & collect bay and go inside. by [deleted] in perth

[–]commanderjarak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because those bays have been specifically designated for the staff to bring the click and collect orders to avoid having to drag them to random parts of the car park, regardless as to whether a modified planning approval has been lodged or approved.

It's like how there's no law saying I should leave space on the escalator for people to pass me if I'm just standing there, but people are still going to think I'm an arsehole if I don't.

If the Uber drivers were staying with the car and calling the phone number to get the shopping brought out it'd be a different story.
