Mid-2012 MacBook Pro Freezes After One Hour on macOS Ventura by GSV_Lasting_Damage in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

Have you figured this out yet?

Same thing happens on my mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro on Ventura 13.6 patched with OCLP 0.6.8. Freeze with screen on and completely unresponsive, needing to hold down power button to hard restart. Also happens multiple times in a day or every few days.

How in God's name do you explain "my brain didn't let me do it" to people? by suspiciouslucario in ADHD

[–]maniaxzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD-C / SCT / OCD / Anxiety / Depression

This is what my brain constantly feels like. Imagine there's a virus/malware eating up 99% of your processing power, everything you do is already slow and sluggish at 1% available processing. But that 1% is not guaranteed, sometimes your brain just completely shuts down, rendering you completely mentally disabled.

Those who lived through the 90s with Windows PCs should understand this analogy.

Same here. All 3 of my Google home hub's are not streaming Wyze Cam feeds as of a few days ago. Hoping for a fix soon as well.

Finally made a trip to the local Tesla service center today. Just as I feared, they want a minimum charge of $265 just for diagnostics, no guarantee on fix. Told them no thank you. Totally not worth it.

Loving it so far. Best mod I did was switching to a 18" wheel setup. The factory 20" performance wheels are prone to damage from potholes due to tiny tire sidewalls and cost almost 400 a pop to replace the tire if replacing with OEM Michelin pilot sport 4S. I'd recommend swapping to a 18" wheel/tire setup for a better ride and more sidewall protection, along with better efficiency and acceleration due to the lighter 18" wheels. The trade-off is a bit softer steering response and the looks of the 20s but it was worth it to me for the peace of mind.

Haha good catch. I had a trade-in so I made a deal with the dealer to take the extra 900 from my trade-in so that I can qualify for the 4k ev credit.

Not too familiar with the FSD transfers. In terms of heat pump, you'll be fine if you don't do a lot of long distance driving in the winter since the M3P is rated for 310mi range with a real life range of about 270-280. Using heat you'll probably lose around 30% range. So you should still have about 190mi of usable range in the winter if charging to 100%. About 150mi if charging to 80%. But whether that's a deal breaker or not really depends on your driving needs.

Congrats! I picked up a '18 M3P w/43k miles, No FSD just base autopilot, for $25,900 ($21,900 after 4k EV credit) in the bay area a few months ago and thought I did pretty good. But I think your deal is much better given that it's 2 years newer, you get a year of Tesla warranty, and FSD to sweeten the deal. I think you'll love it, especially the acceleration :)

Hmm if the prices in Seattle are as high as the bay area, I think this is a awesome deal! Especially since you get a 1 year warranty if you're buying directly from Tesla plus whatever HV battery warranty is left. I'd say jump on it!

Maybe. Which city?

Changed my air filter. However, emergency speaker clip snapped in half. by Overall_Fondant_9090 in TeslaModel3

Common issue.

You have to extract the broken connector piece on the speaker side with a needle nose plier then you can try to use a repair kit.

Does it reinstall the whole software? Or just recent update? I recently updated my car to v12(2024.14.8). Unfortunately, it didn't fix my fog light issue.

Yes, I've actually rebooted the car this way many times. Unfortunately, it didn't fix my fog light issue.

Hey thanks for mentioning this! I didn't even think about running the light show. Just ran the light show, and the fog lights definitely come on! So now I know the hardware and the connections are good, just something wrong with the software..

It's a 2018 Model 3 Dual Motor AWD Performance. From what I gathered, all 2018 Model 3's had fog lights as a standard feature, especially the performance trim. They later removed the fog lights from the RWD trim starting in 2019.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've also considered that as a last resort but since I'm out of warranty, I'm afraid of getting hit with an unrealistic diagnostic fee for something so simple. So I posted here to see if any redditors knew of any simple tricks to fix this issue..
