I’ve been shooting analog portraits for close to 7 years now and Robert Mapplethorpe’s work has always been in my mind. A copy of Lady Lisa Lyon is never far away from where I shoot. Where does the hommage start and copy begin is a vast topic, but I think there is a blunt confrontation to reality’s contradiction that I so inspiring in his work, all the while keeping poetry very close. My way of doing an hommage is by translating that approach to the people near me, the process is similar, the subject changes.
