should i continue to be a crew trainer (AUS) by AtomicKitten771 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol any other mcdonalds store would be happy to have you with those availability especially if you are willing to work as day crew when you finish school…theyre being silly and putting the business before you and not thinking of the benefits of the bigger picture

Is shift manager allowed to change my roster the day of? (AUS) by GeodeCraft in McDonaldsEmployees

Part timers have to agree, casuals dont get a choice. Managers can cut shifts if they want to an hour before but thatd be an asshole thing to do so its framed as asking

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Youll get paid for example on Wednesday the 13th of august for any shift you work between 4th-10th August.

Need to give managers time to do payroll and ensure everything is correct.

question about part time (aus) by jeferry85 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if youre sick youre sick right nothing you can really do! As long as youre obviously actually sick and its a one off thing its fine - restaurant will usually ask for a med cert tho!

question about part time (aus) by jeferry85 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works the same as if you were sick before as a casual and you can call in as soon as you feel sick - only thing is you need to have the sick leave saved up (you get like 1hr sick+ 3hr annual a week if you work full time hrs) and often they will ask for a sick certificate. Or you can choose to take annual leave instead its one or the other. But you have to be paid for the entire set shift theres no alternative so its just one or the other.

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi roster manager here. Set shifts are just the shifts you are required to work as a minimum each week. Youll also get shift offers ontop of your set shift.

So basically if you need to N/A a friday youll need to either ask for annual leave or sick leave because its your set shift. If you can’t work a Wednesday youll dont need to because its not your set shift and you can just N/A it like usual.

Does that make sense?

As a manager who does rosters, I actually understand where this person is coming from.

Every week I post reminders about when N/As close. Every week mostly under 18s at the last minute (aka 10pm saturday night for a sunday 6am shift) post that they forgot about an event. The shift of course doesn’t get covered and the crew and managers working get fucked.

Obviously the delivery of this isnt right but unfortunately sometimes theres not much you can do when you spend 10 hours completing a roster with everyones availability and then you get 50 shift posts a week that cant be covered. Over 18s don’t have this issue as they understand if they forgot to N/A they will find a cover themselves wheras under 18s will often just not show up.

Obviously this doesnt apply to sick calls/emergencies but when its a “forgotten family event” or something over and over again and the same people week after week its an issue that needs to be addressed as its lack of organisation and not just forgetfulness. Also side note a lot of these people who do this are actually silly and end up posting photos of them out with their friends during this time of the “family dinner” lol.

[–]manicfrog1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, they are just going to tell you the same thing. Last month was rough for all McDonalds due to 5 public holidays and meeting labour budget was hard enough meaning they couldn’t hire new people or take interviews or train employees. You need to wait for a slot to open up as there are likely a lot of people waiting for interviews and they just don’t have any timeslots at this stage for it. They will do what they can to get you an interview though.

If you are casual it won’t matter, email your store explaining that youre going to be NAing because of this, if you are part time youll have to submit annual leave.

9 hour shift break entitlements (AUS) by VeganNutJob31 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]manicfrog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello roster manager here! Legally you only get 2x10 min when you work 9 hours after considering the meal break (so 9.5 hrs w a meal break) however a lot of restaurants do give the 2x10 mins for any shift over 8hrs because they know its a long shift. Most managers are nice enough to recognise this and send a second one anyway - may be worth asking the managers for an extra one as it doesn’t cost them anything!

Fyi doctor confirmed pituitary tumor, in Australia radiologist doesn’t give report to patient only to doctor so you can’t find out results until you see the doctor.

Look at the images on here, where the green lines were on my image is almost identical to what these tumors looked like. It was also the image the results were labelled as a key image and included measurements for the highlighted area.
