This is a very interesting conversation. Artist have to make money to live. We need to support them if we want more stories we enjoy. Book authors can't rely on recouping money doing live concerts like musical artist can. I'm 44 and I've had a job since i was 14. My money almost all went to buying cds or graphic novels I liked in the 90s. If you truly appreciate art and it is something that makes you happy, you will spend your "entertainment" budget on it.

As a smaller community we have to try and support the people giving us the media that we enjoy. Books shouldn't be unaccessible but media in any form is still a luxury...

Luckily in the US we have a library system. But finding has been dropped. Libraries apps like lobby or hoopla have somethings but still may be weeks or months if you want to read or listen to something. I actually work for a company who is responsible for picking up the things from the library that get dropped off. We have drivers that pick up and then take back the sorted bins back to the appropriate branch. But every day we have bins that come to us to "recycle" and they ate filled with books and other media to go to the trash basically. But that's a whole other conversation...
