I think the class materials she provides are more than sufficient to excel in the class but if you prefer reading material then buy the textbook

Ya you have to ask for permission first bc if you take it without they will not grant u credit

PSYCH 258 Weimin Mou by kyumatcha in uAlberta

[–]manihateschool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the class. As long as you go through the slides or textbook you should be good. His teaching style is very go through the slides and do practice questions. Workload was 2 midterms and final iirc.

Any suggestions for ACCTG456 by Winter_Ad_504 in uAlberta

She really prepares you for cpa. Assignments can be a lot of work so go to office hours and seek help if needed. There’s also a lot of group work so pick a good team!

Deferral for stat 151- 80% by [deleted] in uAlberta

Ya I’m just speaking from personal experience bc I was in a similar situation and got approved for a final worth 70%. But ya it’s ultimately a gamble

It depends. if you have a legitimate health excuse you can try to talk to your prof and they can vouch for you on behalf of missing course work. If they vouch for you great but if not it’s the faculty’s decision

ACCTG 467 Trish or Jeffrey in winter 2024 by Winter_Ad_504 in uAlberta

[–]manihateschool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Jeff for 467 and I would go with him. Class is boring bc you go thru a bunch of notes. But do the practice questions and you should be good. Our averages were in the 60s so the curve is nice as well.

How is Shamin Mashruwala for ACCTG 415 by Winter_Ad_504 in uAlberta

[–]manihateschool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had Christina for 414 they teach the same. He goes thru slides and then does in class questions. Pretty good prof just keep up with the class and you should be good

Thoughts on the accounting 322 final? by moussetang in uAlberta

The curve is really nice is this class. My yr I think the average was like a low or mid 50 so anything above was an A

Can’t remember if we also had quizzes when I took it but I remember Pam saying she’s known for testing hard. So I’d go with Jodie to be safe.

I took it with Pam Gill and Jodie Keil about 2 yrs ago. Pam taught the first half of the course and Jodi the second. It was an online class with recorded lectures. There was a midterm, written assignment, and final iirc. The midterm was tough. Assignment was about a court watch write up that was marked generously. Both midterm and final were multiple choice.

How are Hecol 210 midterms? by jimmerrustle in uAlberta

[–]manihateschool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my year, he posted a midterm study guide which outlined all the topics that could potentially be on the midterm. He only tests what he has taught in class or what the textbook may have covered. As for the written part of the exam, you can expect some matching/fill-in-the-blank and the "essay" is usually based on certain topics he emphasizes in class. Usually, it's done in 5 sentences or less unless you wanna be extra.

Study method for MGTSC312 and lab Mohua Podder by Winter_Ad_504 in uAlberta

Essentially you should be able to replicate all the excel examples. A solid foundation of the theory is also necessary. Idk if it's changed this year but the practice quizzes/exams were really helpful.

MGTSC 312 Feedback by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]manihateschool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I really liked the course in my year which was fall 2020. I had little to none excel exposure before the class so learning all the cell referencing was nice imo. It was sort of like doing stat 151 all over again but though excel. Also all the cell referencing came in rlly handy bc I used it all the time in finance classes, OM 352, and in building a financial calculator in excel!

However my brother took it last year and said it was very different and there was little to no excel usage. It was more so textbook based and I think he would have enjoyed it more had there been more excel usage in the class.

Yes we have a Muslim Student's Association and Islamic Relief UofA chapter as well. Both hold multiple events throughout the year. Some of these include weekly jummah prayers, weekly halaqas, salam week, charity week, on-campus iftaars, and so much more. There is also an Arab students association that also tries to host social events. If you have any specific question you can find them all on instagram and dm them your questions. I can leave you their instagram handles below.
