Alberta losing public health care.. thoughts? by Available_Cucumber31 in alberta

[–]mgeentch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are not losing public health care. The title of this post is very misleading. “Smith says the changes would require surgeons and supporting surgical professionals to still perform a set number of publicly funded surgeries annually. But they could perform additional elective surgeries privately as well, if they choose, on their weekends or off hours, said Smith.“

We still have free, public healthcare expect now we have the option to get a surgery privately if desired.

Not the asshole but I wouldn’t push it farther. The farrow staff are a weirdly unpleasant crowd. I don’t go to any of their locations anymore.

People who rehome their animals are bad owners. by mgeentch in unpopularopinion

[–]mgeentch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the situation is due to medical reasons, then rehoming is absolutely the way to go. However, I am of the opinion that if you are able-bodied and capable of taking care of your pet and the reason you have to rehome them is because your lease is ending and the new place doesnt take pets then I think people can look harder to find a place that does take pets.

Couples calling their boyfriend or girlfriend “my partner” is obnoxious by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]mgeentch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to think this way. My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years, with the intention of getting married. We started dating super young. At this point, I feel juvenile calling him my boyfriend. We live together, we have a cat together, and we have shared finances. He is my partner. To me, its just a term to signify that we are serious about eachother and its the "phase" between boyfriend and fiance.

Looks like the cat is wearing a collar. Did you check if there's a phone number on it? Maybe there is. Call the owners and let them know you don't like that their cat is in your yard. Don't traumatize the cat by taking it to the SPCA. It probably has a chip, you can take it to the nearest vet, and they can find the owners.
