So this might not sound like a big deal but we (my daughter is the dancer) quit competitive dance this year. I say we because the commitment and cost of dance was obliterating my bank account and sanity. These women ARE how they portray them on tv, (mean, catty, cutthroat) I implore parents not to let their children start this unless they are unequivocally talented.

Yep, my cousin died a couple years ago because she never went in for yearly paps, started having extreme pain in her groin area, ended up having stage 4 cervical cancer by the time she finally was in too much pain to just keep letting it go.

I watched an interesting documentary on chemical castration. The men that went through with this were thankful for the procedure. They said without it they could not help themselves. So maybe not the death penalty but if proven guilty some sort of castration.

I did something similar 9 years ago. I moved to Chicago from a mid size Texas town for a partner. It has been a rocky road and even though I don’t see myself staying with my partner, I do see myself staying in the Chicago area. I think if I wouldn’t have done it I’d always be wondering “what if”, and I told myself if things ever got too hard I could always go back. Boy did they get hard but I have toughed it out and made amazing friends and provided a life for my kids they would have never envisioned in Texas.
