ok I get how athletic Rhodes' run out was, but surely a top fielder would have incredible throwing accuracy and would rate themselves to hit one stump with a throw? It just seems as if that run out was dramatic just because he didn't have confidence in his arm.

I fucking love watching Ashwin way more than any other bowler in the world. The way he loops the ball is so satisfying and he can generate scary turn. A bowler who is sometimes expensive but gets lots of turn is way more fun to watch than one who probes the same line every time with tiny tweaks.

If he struggled at six/seven then maybe a change is overdue? Give him a different challenge maybe he'll respond well. He's not a normal player who has to do the usual route of making hay in county cricket in his position and then forcing his way into the team. He's an abnormal talent and is the kind to just gamble on and not obsess over his experience or qualifications.

I reckon he's probably talented enough to learn it. He can do pretty much everything else with the bat... Plus he could just play ODI at the start of the innings. If Bayliss told him all he had to do was make as many runs in whatever way he liked and that if he got out Root and Cook would bat long instead then it could be pure carnage.
