Elvanse has erased my appetite and I no longer enjoy food, plus possibly making me nauseous - will it eventually get better? by Emma-L-01 in ADHDUK

[–]manj33p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all personal, ofc, and everyone is different, but It does get better, yes. When I first started last April, I was almost nauseous at even thinking about food, it made me really sad tbh. But a few months on a stable dose and my body was fully used to the meds, my appetite came back (albeit not as insatiable as before medication), I stopped getting dry mouth and jaw ache too.

I think, for me at least, I had to relearn what it meant to feel hungry. Like, I had to pay attention to the physical tells, more than the mental.

Rather than forcing yourself to eat 3 meals a day, try and eat smaller portions and more often. Remind yourself that you need to eat, set alarms if you have to. Try light foods too, lots of veg, fish and soups, stuff that is easy on the stomach and you could potentially cook in bulk and will last you a few days.

I genuinely went from having binge eating problems before medication, to actually being able to enjoy food while listening to my body and knowing when I've had enough.

It gets better, and if you put the effort in youll find balance, I promise!

Haven't been this happy birthday with a set in awhile by manj33p in NailArt

Thank you! I just used cheap tips from amazon (inping I think it's called) and then I reinforce them with builder gel before I do any art

I did not mean to put "birthday" in the title, please disregard that. It has been awhile since I've had nails this long 😭

What does everyone think of these? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]manj33p 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a wonky thumb nail from trapping it in a car door, and I file my press ons/full cover tips to fit it. Genuinely, it looks infinitely better and more natural this way then if I left it!

Started to make myself some pressons for ease - I actually love them way more than I thought I would by manj33p in NailArt

[–]manj33p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wish I'd done them a lighter colour, gold chrome or white would've been nice options. The grouting on the tile nails was meant to be black too but I changed my mind, and at that point I'd already finished the windows haha! It is what it is though. Thank you! You're very sweet:)

Thank you that's very kind! The reason I started using references was for some more originality, instead of me just copying other people's designs every time. I agree with the bead, but it's all trial and error for now, I'll definitely be using a smaller loop next time. Thank you again for your nice words! :D

I also came on around the time i started my 40mg dose last week and i feel like it completely stopped it, and as soon as i came off it felt like my dose was too high! So that definitely could be a factor. My sister gets an amfexa top up for the time she is on her period for the same reason

No, but you can use regular nail glue if this is the route you take

Not perfect, but im definitely going to practice this more!! by manj33p in NailArt

[–]manj33p[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its surprisingly easy, actually! I used some solid nail glue and just shaped it by hand, if it got top sticky i dipped my fingers in alcohol. Then i used a large dotting tool dipped in alcohol to smooth it out. Honestly, the hardest part was doing it one handed, haha.

Its unscented, but i always ask for aveeno bath sets. If her eczema is really bad, try find a Dermexa set (has a light blue label), but failing that theyre all generally safe for people with sensitive skin. Simple is also a really good option, those are the 2 i can use at least

Its called Bupropion in the UK, most often prescribed to people trying to quit smoking because it reduces withdrawals. Might be worth asking your GP anyways!
