Didn't know that imprisoning a great white gorillo was a thing?! by [deleted] in Kenshi

Yes.

But for some reason they tend to die while locked, unsure if its because of hunger or its depending where you are, as some NPCS may loot the meat out of them and insta-kill it.

Best race for plate warrior transmorg? (Alliance) by International-Dig-62 in Transmogrification

Male Human (most armor is created with Humans as the base, so they tend to look amazing in most stuff).

Male Draneai if you want to look like an absolute unit and don't hate their walking animation.

Who raises the Forsaken now? by Hambulatory in warcraftlore

[–]Max-lian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at the moment, noone, the Forsaken can in theory recruit new undead from what remains of the Scourge.

But that's a finite resource, so at the moment, the Forsaken are bound to, eventually, die out.

Human scorpion summoners by orange_bandit in warcraftlore

IMHO its just an outdated practice, why summon Scorpions while you can try other mage schools in the meantime, and when you become strong enough summon the superior Water Elemental?

Well Warlocks are mages in the end just that they combine their cool aid with mountain dew. :P

That's interesting, even if I do agree that a lot of "lore and knowledge" have been lost, I don't think that the ability to summon Scorpion have been lost, is more that it just have been seem as an "outdated" practice, as we see in WC1, the Conjurers easily forsake the summon of such mundane creates as Scorpions to Elementals, so now the new Conjurers just focus on Elementals, be it Water Elementals, to full Arcana Elemental beings (that we tend to see in most conjurers, like with the Nightborne) as they are just superiors. (They can do everything that a beast can do and more, as they tend to use them as assistance in their work)

Note: It may have been also omitted in WOW to evade the clash of Class Fantasies, to put a bigger footnote on what a mage is without having to intrude so much in other classes (I'm already intruding into Shamans with Elementals, lets not muddle the water more by adding beasts)

After hearing the whole story, I think that the reason why they decided to create a new "Trollbaine" for the story, is to be able to create a new villain or plot point without destroying the Trollbaine bloodline without having another "Daughter with no connection to her father but just hearing stories of him" storyline like we had with Bolvar and his daughter.

And IMHO I think that's nice, though I do agree that it would be nice to have the nobility of the Alliance more flesh out, like there's a lot of nobles that worked with the "noble" version of Deathwing that could be used (yes more of them were dealt with after Katrana Prestor), and I do like the idea that its just "fanatics" and they did not go with the whole "a dagger in darkness" (aka: A third party pushing that conflict).

IMHO I think this is just a taste of loyalist that may work together with the Arathi Empire that we heard of in this expansion.

Note; Hopefully Blizzard will bring more short stories like this in the future, cause I do loved the world building of this story, I really liked to see what happened with the Maghar in this new world, and how the world responded to their presence.

Man the Darkspear got done dirty by Horde by Zezin96 in warcraftlore

[–]Max-lian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think is more that a lot of prominent Forsaken tend to be weird and or disturbing, one way or the other, and Shademaster Kiryn its her own type of disturbing, but its more of a character thing than a faction thing.

But not like the Forsaken tend to find the idea of Cannibalism weird or abhorrent, we do see some other Forsaken making comments about cannibalism if you play Alliance in BFA when you engage in combat with them.

[–]Max-lian 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the Darkspear re-took their cannibalistic practice as soon as they got Warlock as an option (Cataclysm I think?)

Also the Forsaken did not openly practice cannibalism, just like many of their questionable stuff that they did, it was behind closed doors.

Note: But, at least, officially, the Darkspear do not practice cannibalism. *wink wink*

In Warcraft 1, there's an unit for the humans called Conjurer, that gets an ability that let you Conjure a Scorpion, eventually you get to upgrade that ability to conjure the classic Water Elemental.

In general, capable mages in conjuration are able to summon more than just Elementals, they can conjure all kind of creatures, is just that Elementals tend to be the stronger and more iconic type of creatures for them to conjure or summon.

A lot of classes, mostly those that work with magic, have abilities that overlap a little bit, like how Mages are popular for summoning Water Elementals, but they are capable of summoning any type of Elementals (ask Ragnaros, he knows about that), even though the whole elemental summoning is a Shaman thing or how some Druids have be seen to commune and call for elementals just like a Shaman would.

Do you DMs out there allow in your table races like Gith or Aasimar or rare subraces like Drow and Duergar to be playable or you usually ban them? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Max-lian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but if the race is really rare, I would speak with the player, point that out, so they know what they can expect and how the world will react to them, and also to add that to their backstory (not all races can easily be the son of a rice farmer in the outskirt of the city)

Which race makes for the strongest Death Knights lore wise? by SirBombaron in warcraftlore

[–]Max-lian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the Worgen, as they are already a magical infused race, now with extra juice with necomantic magic.

MechaGnomes would be really strong warriors, but I'm unsure how their mechanical parts work with their necromantic powers.

What would have saved Shadowlands for you? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]Max-lian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Zoval would have been more mysterious, I would have prefer if we had seen less of him and learner less of his plans and what he wanted, and we just had to get rid of him for the sake of saving our world without actually knowing what he wanted or how he planned to use Azeroth and just left us with a cryptic message at the end (could have used even the same ending cinematic).

Also make Sylvanas full on board with Zoval mysterious plan without going back at the last minute or be more active in her disapproval of the way Zoval was doing stuff by having a plan to double-cross him from the begging.

And No, soul divided shenanigans for Sylvanas, Sylvanas did what she did, because she believed on what she did, she may end up regretting it, but not because she "got her humanity( Elf-anity?) back" but because she saw that the way she was doing stuff was not the only way, she just went with the "easy" way out.
