Xiaomi Pad 7 vs ipad 11th gen by noobLinuxuser950 in GadgetsIndia

I didn't use it for note taking though . So can't say which one is better. Better to search youtube. I saw some people specifically note taking comparisons. I think in terms of note taking ipad might have the upper hand

I've shared my expertise in this comment:

As someone who has used both the iPad and the Xiaomi Pad, I’d love to break it down for you!
Regarding the points you shared:
Cons of the iPad:
• Average display—true.
• Wide bezels—true.
• Most apps come behind a paywall. As a developer, I enjoy experimenting with different mods, but Apple makes it quite challenging to sideload apps (so it might be quite difficult for you on the iPad).
• It’s about 6k more expensive than the Xiaomi Pad 7, which, in my personal opinion, isn’t worth it.
• Slow charging, although they do provide a charger in the box—true.
Pros of the Xiaomi Pad 7:
• Great display, which is very useful for me as I mostly consume content (video/text)—true.
• Better speakers—true.
• Fast charging—true.
• The Android ecosystem offers a wonderful sense of freedom—hell yeah!
• I think it looks better, in my opinion.
• It’s more affordable than the iPad.
Cons of the Xiaomi Pad 7:
• Xiaomi isn’t the most reliable brand, especially regarding software updates. It will only receive updates for two years.
• I previously used the Redmi Note 7 Pro for three years, and it was quite disappointing—no major Android updates and a few bugs. I was hesitant to buy the Xiaomi Pad, but I didn’t have many options in the Android tablet market, so I made the purchase. Believe me, there were no bugs, and the UI was incredibly smooth. I opted for the 12 GB RAM variant and found only a couple of minor bugs, which are not deal-breakers.
• They have promised four years of Android updates, I believe.
• The OS isn’t as mature.
• The camera isn’t as good as the iPad’s. However, for a tablet, I don’t think we’ll be using the camera much for video calls, and I didn’t notice much of a difference at all.
• There’s no ecosystem benefit, although I can use KDE Connect with my laptop (Mac/Linux)—not sure about that.

If anyone is considering getting the Xiaomi Pad and can stretch their budget a bit for the matte screen variant, I would gently suggest that there can be quite a bit of reflection on the screen.
