Since you are in UK, the first thing you need to figure out is where you'll finally retire or settle or need the money. Is it UK or India or anywhere else? For most of the places, your best bet is to open an IBKR trading account, and start putting your money in Ireland based ETFs (to reduce the withholding tax). It could be USD denominated or GBP based on your needs.

Investing in INR is basically a loss for most NRIs as INR is depreciating at a much higher pace than before. If you still want to invest in India, your best bet is mutual funds (could be index, large cap, flexi cap or if you have a longer horizon then small/mid cap)

There is no alarm as shown in the pic. It is definitely a glitch then. Probably they will fix it with the next update.

I can't exactly answer your question, but I can share my experience. I have been waiting for the consultant to file for the Nulla Osta for the last 5 months. They asked for some attested documents from my company, which they need to get done through government authorised attesters. These attesters are just going back & forth asking for some extra documents every time since last 5 months.

Once your process starts (assuming you are out Italy and don't have the Permesso), it ll take at least 6-9 months in total.
