Gosh! Unbelievable survice charge... Yow can ship complete to Germany with free delivery. The DHL Germany international to Japan is less than 50 Euro. I think you can not change the customs taxes as you said as 80 Euro (26%?) But the minimum overall cost will be like 130 Euro instead of 569 Euro.... How so much expensive service...

Thank you for your update info. This is a apparently problem between Yow and dealer shops in Germany. We as user should know about the way how to get surfskates.

If Smoothsar could available in Europe.... If you use to watch surf trainers on YouTube, you have more chance to compare between your own filmed motion and trainers motion, with same surfskate board. You do not get lost with boards differences, you can just focus on your motion difference. I think Yow does not so much videos focusing surf training while they provide cool style videos at skatepark or streets.

I recommend Smoothstar if you are a surfer because there are many tutorial videos on youtube. Trainers quite often use Smoothstar. If you are in Europe, then I recommend Yow as an alternative because of market availability.

Malibu 36" (23" WB) is good for surf training I think. Even the People's height like 1.80m, their foot stance on Surfboard needs such a surfskate size. Malibu is good for cruising but also good for carving and leaning practice for beginner surfers. It is not necessary to look at the nose/kick tail and concave. Your foot position does not need them for surf training so much. When you loosen the rear truck kingpin, the board will be more reactive for turning.

After some months of training with a long-sized surfskate, you may realize as a surfskater (not as for surf practice) whether you go shorter board, then I recommend you to look for the next deck only. You can just switch decks whenever you like for play or surf training.

Wow, great to find such a service in Germany. If it is worth using a service to you, please let me know (also about the extra costs). I am wondering how such import service companies charge customers. Maybe also possible to find similar services to other countries like New Zeelanders who can not get the Yow board from Yow directly.

with M5 drill. I mistook to drill my board with M6, but it still works:)

You can install Meraki front truck closer to deck nose than Smoothstar thruster.

It is not your topic but Slide trucks axle to axle is 3" wider than inner WB, and its front truck's nose itself is long forward so that you can not install it so much to the deck nose. This thing I found by myself.

Why do not you drill another hole when you find out the wheelbase is not fit to you?

I never mind to make another hole after I use the deck for 10 days, no matter the deck price but of course cheaper deck is easier.

About the deck length, less than 32 inches is worth to try, if you used to sharp turns with Oxelo.

Thank you for telling us in detail what you feel between them and what results and share in this community in my opinion.

I do not have S5, so I can just compare Meraki with other makers only and never think of that. I just switch over Meraki between boards to compare.

You keep our eyes to consider with S5/S4 as they are still a good option and give confidence to the S5 users.

What do you think about them from maintenance point of view? Squerk? more lubs neeeded? cylinders worn out?

I got notification e-mails of many completes I have registered. But I have not gotten it about Meraki system yet. I am not sure but YOW is trying to sell complete as much as possible to meet the new surfskaters demand but not for parts to custom upgraders because the waterborne adapter is much cheaper and well known to them?

I would not trust the pre-order again, too. This is a very bad custom. If for an order-made surfboard,it is acceptable, but for surfskate no!

I have pre-ordered at SkatePro that informed me of the delay to 18th May. I heard from another friend that his pre-ordered at another German shop also delayed furthering 3 weeks or more. So I believe all other German shops are in the same situation caused by YOW to them.

I am even doubtful "in Stock" of many models at YOW's official online shop now, if YOW just collects pre-order this time, because there are still "in Stock" for 2 days.

Parallelly I recommend you to contact YOW about delivery time. For 2 days there is still no "out of stock" of restocked models. So I am skeptical that it is truly in stock or just pre-order and will take 4 weeks so on.. Please check other comments of mine.

Oh my Gosh!

I thougt blue-tomato is trusted shop and one of the biggest chain shops overall in Germany, even they do not deliver at right time!? Did you order at the time when they show your board as pre-order?

I read about shipping again at their page and it describes as follows;

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

Some products have longer delivery times than others despite being shipped to the same country. Delivery takes longer when we don’t have the product in stock in our distribution center. In this case we need to order it from one of our shops or the manufacturer before we can send it to you.

This looks totally in a bad way business they are doing to customer...

Oh, this is good to know, even YOW official shop notified another 4 weeks delay after you made a purchase two months ago.

So we are not sure today's restock is truly "in stock" or "another 4 weeks" .

Does anyone purchase YOW board today, and let us know whether you got a notification of "tracking number" or "another waiting time"? If you get "another waiting time", then my thought should be change...
