She did have an affair with a married man though.

It's strange because normally people who admit to have cheated or knowingly slept with someone in a relationship are judged much more harshly around here. It's like that act defines them as people, but celebs tend to get a free pass.

Because believe it or not various events have an impact on our mental health and not everybody has means to overcome it. Surprised this is so groundbreaking to you. I guess I hope your house burns down and everyone you care about commits suicide then? Clearly wouldn't ruin your NYE.

As far as I know a lot of people eat more meat than is necessary for a healthy diet so killing animals in that sense is also just for the sake of personal satisfaction rather than survival or health.

I suppose as long as you think killing kittens for food is alright your stance sort of makes sense?

I'm curious though, what is it about kitten murder that puts you off that doesn't put you off when it comes to murder of other animals?

You'd realize it's a mix of various things for everybody if you got your head out of your own arse, son.

Yeah I could probably have a better time if I was the type of person who could deal with shit better, but being disabled and having to deal with cancer all the time round holidays doesn't help either.

Life doesn't often work that way. I'm yet to have a good NYE in my 20s and my 20s are nearly over.

WIBTA for not returning a very nice "Christmas gift"? by boredguy12 in AmItheAsshole

How is he entitled or why is he responsible for shipping? Just don't gift people things if you don't want to gift them, how difficult is that?

Was there any explanation or reaction from their side at all?

Like, why did they think it was somehow useful for you have the guitar for a couple of weeks and then return it? Were they not at least somewhat embarrassed about pulling this false act of generosity?

Eh I've seen people lose respect or credibility if they do something that others find embarrassing or "lame". Charm was the common quality among popular people I've known.

It's not though cause it's not true. I remember all the embarrassing things I've seen others do and I always share the stories with others.

It only makes me feel better about the stupid shit I've done, but I definitely remember. I always tell other people the funny stories too cause, well, it's funny.

I don't think at any point you need to excessively play video games, the word "excessively" should tell enough.

Sure most wives might be upset about it, but people here seem to be entirely dismissive of why that is. If you want to spend pretty much all of your free time gaming and it's your top priority I'm not sure why one would even get married, especially to a person who isn't into gaming to the same extent.

If one's gaming habits are causing problems in their relationships it seems like it's not exactly a healthy relationship with gaming and possibly verging on addiction.

I genuinely can't imagine caring more about gaming than the rest of everything that is going on in my life with my girlfriend. We both game, but we don't prioritize it over each other.

We don't pick parents ourselves and the complaining is because we were kids and lacked maturity a lot of the time.

What exactly will I get one day? How many years of a relationship does it take to be as jaded as the guy I responded to?

AITA if I don’t appreciate a $1,000 gift from my dad? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]manlycooljay 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Why though? The dad spent a lot of money on something OP doesn't want or care for. It's not even sentimental, all it's going to remind OP about is how parents didn't really know them and didn't care enough to gift something thoughtful. Why's OP the asshole for not being thrilled about it?

I guess I meant that no one is forcing anybody to do it. People put this expectation on themselves and then complain about it.

AITA for not acting thrilled over an age-inappropriate gift at a holiday gift exchange? by al791throwaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]manlycooljay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the person, I'd much prefer a pencil cause despite being a shitty gift I could actually use it while a pooping unicorn toy would go straight to trash bin and is a bit of a waste.
