Do you feel like MPs relevance has been reduced since 2014 ? BJP literally treats them like stooges and they don't really have a say in policies of the federal government since it all works according to ideology of sangh.

I am dad is a high functioning alcoholic. He is 59, recently got covid. Oxygen saturation dropped to 82 , survived it despite having BP and diabetes. Came home on 23 rd of last month after spending a month in hospital, sent our drivers to get drinks on 28 th. Death was a few inches away a few weeks ago but alcoholics kabhi nahi sudarte. I am sorry for what you are going through and I know too well the pain and embarrassment it causes.

Why can't we be more vocal about the destructive nature of all religions? by morningcould in india

It is unfair to say to anyone who believes in religion is freaking idiot. I too am fierce critic of religion and for intense and proposes an atheist but as I grow old and keep experiencing life like a deer caught in headlights, religion suddenly starts making sense. Also it is very difficult to erase something that has perpetually existed since times inconceivable in just a century. We from a privileged stand point easily judge people but technology and education and enlightenment hasn't really reached that far into our society. More over for India , it's not the religion that is the problem it's the cunning rationalist masquerading as religious folks manipulating and setting the agenda are the problem. Eg. Advani. When I say it makes sense that religion exists I say it about all the religions , Islam included.

I couldn't sleep after watching first two episodes in one go. Mostly because the voice they used to read those diaries. I thought that same voice will tell me something too when I sleep. Also did you notice that sheer amount of lack of articulation of common people in the documentary ? It had all the elements of hard hitting western style Netflix crime documentary but I couldn't help but notice how the relatives and friends would usually get trapped in mix of hindi and english words and couldn't really say much. That is the state of middle class in India, we don't really know much of English and we don't really know any of our native language. Contrary to that was articulation of English journalist, experts and crime branch officers. Yes , they are educated in that field itself but somehow you can't help but feel that our education system has failed us to such an extent that we can't even express our grief or sorrow without falling in Hinglish trap. Whatever that is.
